A look at the NFL quarterbacks getting ready to lace up their cleats for the Super Wildcard weekend gives you some insight into the different styles of QBs. On one hand, you have more traditional pocket passers like Jared Goff, Joe Flacco, and Matthew Stafford. Then on the other hand you have QBs the likes of Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes, who can all hurt you with their arms and legs.
Here is a look at eight quarterbacks making their debut in the Kansas rankings. All of them have huge upsides and represent the current group of 34 total quarterbacks ranked in the top 300 athletes in the class of 2025.
Tate Nagy Tate Nagy 5'10" | 140 lbs | QB Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS , QB, 5’10”, 140, Blue Valley West
Nagy is ranked No. 96 in the January updates. The Jaguar signal caller threw for 1,888 yards in 10 games. He connected on 16 touchdown passes with teammates. He can also be a factor in the run game as he finished with 618 yards gained and scored five times on the ground. Nagy is the 8th-ranked quarterback among his 2025 peers.
Carter Aslin Carter Aslin 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Manhattan | 2025 State KS , QB, 6’0”, 170, Manhattan
Aslin is a dual-threat quarterback who is versatile enough to play college ball at other positions as well. He rushed for 1,414 yards in 11 games for the Manhattan Indians. He scored 18 touchdowns on the ground and threw eight touchdown passes and for 908 yards. Aslin is the 10th-ranked quarterback and at No. 101 overall.
Christopher Aiello Christopher Aiello 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Blue Valley | 2025 State KS , QB, 6’2”, 195, Blue Valley
Aiello will be expected to guide the Blue Valley Tigers offense for a second year in a row next fall. During his junior campaign, he threw for 1,672 yards and nine touchdowns. He has a strong arm and is a prototypical pocket passer for Blue Valley. He is the 11th-ranked quarterback and ranked No. 142 overall in the most recent rankings.
Dusty Bannister Dusty Bannister 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Wellington | 2025 State KS , QB, 6’1”, 190, Wellington
Bannister is ranked No. 185 overall. In 11 games he threw for 2,616 yards and 25 touchdowns. He has nice size and a quick release. He also scored five rushing touchdowns and 237 yards for the Crusaders. It was Bannister’s first season as the starting quarterback. His offseason participation at camps and combines will have a big say in whether he moves up or down the rankings the next time they are updated.
Brayden Lawson Brayden Lawson 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Marmaton Valley | 2025 State KS , QB, 6’1”, 185, Marmaton Valley
Lawson is one of three quarterbacks from the eight-man ranks to crack the rankings. He is ranked one position below Bannister at No. 186. He has back-to-back seasons of throwing for over 1,000 yards. In nine games he threw for 1,474 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior. He also rushed for 645 yards and eight touchdowns.
Micah Fiscus Micah Fiscus 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB Wichita Southeast | 2025 State KS , QB, 5’10”, 170, Wichita Southeast (Pictured Above)
Fiscus is one of those interesting prospects because his numbers won’t impress you at first glance and he played for a losing team. I saw Fiscus last spring at a college camp and his skills were right up there with the other quarterbacks in attendance. He has quick feet and a nice arm. He threw for just 553 yards and five touchdowns. He is athletic enough that colleges could recruit him as a player they expect to change positions. Fiscus is ranked No. 191 overall.
Duncan Bell Duncan Bell 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Hoxie | 2025 State KS , QB, 5’11”, 170, Hoxie
Bell is another one of the 8-Man QBs and debuts in the rankings at No. 195 overall. He threw for 1,546 yards and completed 65 percent of his pass attempts. He accounted for 22 passing touchdowns and rushed for 14 more while gaining 487 yards in the run game.
Nash Wray Nash Wray 5'9" | 150 lbs | QB Haven | 2025 State KS , QB, 5’9”, 145, Haven
I saw Wray play in person during his junior season and I was impressed with his game. He was the last quarterback added to the rankings during this update in the No. 299 slot. He threw for 1,293 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Wildcats. He also rushed for 516 yards and nine scores. His senior year will be important for him to keep his place in the quarterback line as more players are added to the rankings.
