Doing these analyses allows me to spotlight a lot of players. There are a lot of young talented prospects and several sleeper prospects that could start getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level.
Jeremy Johnston Jeremy Johnston 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Florida State University FSUS | 2024 FL -Florida State University High c/o 24
6’1 190lbs
Johnston was really good in 2023; he led the Seminoles to a 10-3 record and into the Regional Finals of the playoffs. Johnston was the top quarterback in the district throwing for 2638 yards, completed 67% of his passes with 30 touchdowns. He also finished with 16 carries for 132 yards and and a touchdown. Johnston is still available and currently has an offer from Georgia Knights Community College.
Strengths:
- Good anticipation on his throws
- Athleticism throwing on the run
- Very good accuracy at all 3-levels
RJ Mayes- Marianna High c/o 25
5’10 150lbs
Mayes was impressive throughout the season for the Bulldogs. The first-year starter led Marianna to the State playoffs and finished second in the district throwing for 1351 yards, completing 51% of his passes with 15 touchdowns. He also finished second on the team with 441 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Mayes’ Recruitment is heating up. Can he receive his first 2 offers within the last month from University of Pennsylvania and Pudget Sound University. Mayes will be one of the top returning quarterbacks in the district in 2024.

- Effective and creative when flushed out of the pocket
- Smart decision maker
- Running ability to make the defense pay
Shawnterris Thomas- Gadsden County High c/o 24
6’1 160lbs
Thomas was solid this season leading Gadsden County to a 6-5 record and into the State Playoffs. He finished third in the district in passing, throwing for 919 yards, completing 54% of his passes with 10 touchdowns. Thomas was very effective running the ball, finishing with 45 carries for 405 yards (9.0 avg) with 5 touchdowns.
Strengths:
- Natural instinctive runner
- Homerun hitting speed
- Athleticism to play multiple positions
Lazarus Chambers- Godby High c/o 26
6’2 180lbs
Chambers was a first-year starter for the Cougars really showed the potential to be a really good quarterback prospect over the next several seasons. Chambers finished fourth in the district throwing for 878 yards, completing 55% of his passes with 11 touchdowns. He also rushed for 94 yards. Chambers is one for coaches to keep an eye on over the Spring. He picked up his first D1 offer from FAMU in October.
Strengths:
- Ball jumps out of his hand
- Arm strength to make every throw at all 3-levels
- Accuracy throwing off platform
Landon Dougherty- Gadsden County High c/o 27
6’5 180lbs
Dougherty is another up-and-coming quarterback in the district. He split time this season and was impressive finishing fifth in the district, throwing for 683 yards, completed 55% of his passes with 6 touchdowns in 7 games. Dougherty helped lead the Jaguars to the state playoffs as a freshman. Dougherty is one of the top quarterbacks returning in the district next season and holds D1 offers from Central Michigan and Florida A&M. Coaches keep an eye on him!
