When we had the chance to talk with those who attended the Florida Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase, the one promise that we made is that EVERYONE who took the time to attend would be promoted throughout the course of their career. We started that promise with a look at each and every position that came out to spend the three hours.
From MVPs to each group that tested, learned and competed, we did something that no other recruiting website would ever do and that is give recognition to those student/athletes that work hard and dedicate themselves to the classroom and the football field.
In our final look at the event, we check out the running backs.
PERRY STOOD TALL AT THE END
Taking nothing away from any of the backs who attended, Orlando Edgewater rising senior Joshua Perry Joshua Perry 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Orlando Edgewater | 2025 State FL was the player who coaches singled out for testing, learning and competition – and with an already lofty ranking statewide, this 5-11, 190-pounder is indeed someone who turned heads with his overall athletic ability.
One of the toughest positions to judge in a combine setting, it all comes down to drills, testing and being able to catch the ball in the one one-on-one competition. Making his way from Orlando Lake Nona, he is anxious to get started with his new teammates.
RUNNING BACK POSITION RUNS DEEP
While Perry certainly showcased his skills and potential, he certainly was not alone. The event also put a spotlight on rising seniors (2025) Elijah DeWoskin (5-10, 190, Pembroke Pines West Broward), versatile Jayveon Gold, a 6-0, 175-pounder, who came all the way from Greenfield Whitnall, Wisconsin, state-rated Rodney Grant III Rodney Grant III 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Seminole | 2025 State FL (6-0, 190, Sanford Seminole), and Stuart Martin County two-year starter Dominic Lucci Dominic Lucci 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Martin County | 2025 FL (5-11, 202), who has attended several exposure combines and camps.
While the upperclassmen took the lead roll, the Stock Up event also opened the door for promising Palm Beach Gardens Class of 2027 rising sophomore Dario Clermont Dario Clermont 5'5" Palm Beach Gardens | 2027 FL , who is expected to make an impact for the Gators in 2024.
