Rather than separating running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, I grouped them into two bigger articles. Today we’re showcasing 7 rising athletes from three classes across six schools!
WR: Brock Seabaugh 6’3″ 195 lbs Chanhassen 2025
Seabaugh is a well-built wideout from recent AAAAA state champion Chanhassen. Although he was primarily a special teams player his junior year, Chanhassen just graduated 4 of their top 6 pass-catchers from the previous season so he will see a significant workload increase. The former Texas high school football player has shown off tight route running as well as the ability to make explosive cuts in open space. I’m excited to watch Seabaugh during his senior year.
ATH: Chavon York Chavon York 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Lakeville South Highschool | 2026 MN 5’7″ 150 lbs Lakeville South 2026
An RB/DB from Lakeville South, York’s sophomore tape is full of explosive plays at either position. As a running back, York shows off some impressive speed. That combined with his low center of gravity and his powerful legs leads to him continuously breaking arm tackles en route to a touchdown. One thing you’ll observe early on in his film is that York runs hard. Whether it be returning a kick, or running inside the tackles, York gives it his all. He does a nice job of getting north and south quickly and hopefully will see varsity time during his junior year.
WR: Dane Heinen Dane Heinen 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Burnsville | 2025 MN 6’1″ 160 lbs Burnsville 2025
Despite being injured two of the nine-week football season, Heinen still managed to rack up over 270 yards on only 15 catches will three touchdowns. Throughout his tape, Heinen shows off crisp route running, particularly on deep routes. He’s able to consistently beat defenders over the top, and shows off stellar ball-tracking ability, even when there is a defender’s hand in your face. Heinen has a variety of nasty releases which he uses to cook DBs when they press up on him. He frequently shows off outstanding body control and can bring in difficult catches. Heinen also shows off the ability to use his legs to rack up extra yardage after the catch. I’m excited to see him ball out his senior year.
RB: Ray Beiningen Ray Beiningen 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Mound Westonka | 2025 State MN 5’9″ 190 lbs Mound Westonka 2025
Beiningen was a 1,500-yard rusher during his junior season where he also put up 28 total touchdowns. He enters his senior year on the short list of top running backs in the state. His tape reveals a dominant and powerful downhill runner who punishes defenders who attempt to tackle him. Beiningen will make a quick cut in a tight space before storming north and south where he rapidly picks up speed and puts himself on a collision course with either a defender or the endzone. He averaged 6.0 yards per carry and his film showcases what a bell cow he can be. With a solid camp circuit this offseason, I think we’ll see some offers start to roll in for him.
RB: Darion Graham 6′ 175 lbs Lakeville South 2026
Graham is another Lakeville South sophomore running back who had a standout season. His film shows a robust runner with impressive speed. Rarely if ever does a defender match his speed or chase him down. Graham makes quick cuts at or near the line of scrimmage which allows him to find an open lane and break one loose. Graham is physical as a runner and he isn’t scared to lower his shoulder, or lead block when asked. He also shows that he can return kicks, and has tape of him taking them back deep. Graham’s talents are a testament to how deep Lakeville South’s running back room is.
WR: Payton Rehfeld Payton Rehfeld 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR East Ridge | 2025 MN 6’2″ 180 lbs East Ridge 2025
Rehfeld doesn’t have any film available from his junior year, but he has a litany of it from his sophomore so we’ll examine that instead. Rehfeld is a thick and explosive wideout who excels at bringing down catches in traffic. On his tape, he routinely beats defenders deep and does a great job of stretching the field for his quarterback. However, he’s also shown that he can have success with bubble screens. In the screen game, Rehfeld frequently turns busted plays into significant games. He’s a great athlete who can make outstanding catches and doesn’t mind bringing down balls when he’s getting hit.
