On December 3, 2023, the first annual Metro Middle School All-Star combine unfolded. Combine director Fredrick Stewart put together this amazing event of We Play at the newly renovated Hughes Field in Jackson, Ms. The event attracted the attention of many elite prospects from 16 different middle schools across four counties in the area. The Metro Middle School’s All-Star Combine served as a platform for these budding football stars to shine brightly and grab the attention of scouts, coaches, and football enthusiasts alike.
Cole Reed | Cardozo Middle School | RB/LB
Reed is 5’10” tall and 170 lbs. Cole is a dynamic player excelling as a running back and linebacker for Coach Dameion Adams. Cole showed remarkable strength, regularly breaking tackles and gaining yards after contact. He already has the size to contribute early for a high school.
Dillon Crockett | Chastain Middle School | RB/DB
Crockett is 5’10” tall and 150 lbs. Dillon had a GREAT championship game performance for coach Jeronimo Williams and the Chastain Warriors. Dillon has a burst of speed that gets him to the next level. As good as he is as a running back, Dillon could be projected to be a Division 1 Defensive Back due to his quick feet and the HEAVY DOSE of confidence he brings to the field.
Brandon Haines Brandon Haines 5'10" | 160 lbs | RB MS | Hazlehurst Middle School | RB/LB
Haines is 5’10” tall and 161 lbs. Brandon is a FOOTBALL PLAYER. Coach Fair, his middle school coach, raved about Brandon before the combine, and he did not disappoint. Having the second-highest broad jump at 8’6, he showed how explosive he would be for the Hazlehurst High School team.
Knolyn Bailey Knolyn Bailey 5'9" | 155 lbs | RB MS | Northwest Middle School | RB/DB
Bailey is 5’7″ tall and 171lbs. Coaches were excited about Knolyn. The Northwest standout was called upon to carry the load for his team, and we saw at the combine why. He is an intelligent player who picked up on every drill and worked hard. Over the next couple of years, his development will allow him to play at the D-1 level.
De’Jarveon Harris | Woolfork Middle School | RB/DB
Harris is 5’6″ tall and 178lbs- Yazoo City has a FOOTBALL PLAYER with Harris. Coaches talked about his high football IQ and ability to find running lanes even in congested situations. For an 8th grader, He reads blocks effectively and anticipates defensive movement well. At the combine, he ran every test well. He should develop to be one of the elite athletes in the state.
