After breaking down some under the radar 2026s to watch for, here’s my list of some intriguing 2025s in Kentucky to keep an eye on.
In the first place spot on my list is Cameron Jessee Cameron Jessee 6’2″ | 230 lbs | ATH Louisville DuPont Manual | 2025 State KY , an athlete at DuPont Manual High School. What impresses me about Jessee on the defensive end is his ability to be disruptive down the stretch, proving he can pick off the quarterback as well as make commanding stops in the pocket. Jessee stands out offensively with his ability to create seperation and get wide open for the touchdown pass.

I am additionally impressed with Josh Campbell Josh Campbell 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Paducah Tilghman | 2025 State KY , a wide receiver at Paducah Tilghman High School. Campbell stands out due to his size and explosiveness, utilizing bursts of speed to create excellent seperation down the stretch. I also like Campbell’s catching ability as well as his physicality in coverage, proving he can shake tackles as he marches into the endzone for the touchdown.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is George Black George Black 6’0″ | 240 lbs | DL Louisville Central | 2025 State KY , a defensive lineman at Louisville Central High School. In addition to great size and speed off the snap, what impresses me about Black is his ability to maneuver the pocket and create chaos for the offensive line. I also like Black’s ability to quickly tackle the running back in the pocket, proving he can make crucial stops and protect the backfield.
Making a statement last season was Malachi Simmons Malachi Simmons 6’1″ | 180 lbs | RB Garrard County | 2025 State KY , a running back at Garrard County High School. In addition to great size and speed off the snap, what makes Simmons such a solid offensive weapon is his ability to absorb defensive contact in the pocket, proving his strong footwork and durable edge. I also like how Simmons can quickly slip past the defense and pick up speed on his way to the house.
Another skilled prospect to watch for is Ar’Von Roach Ar’Von Roach 6’1″ | 265 lbs | OL Louisville Waggener | 2025 KY , an offensive lineman at Louisville Waggener High School. What makes Roach so impactful at the line of scrimmage is his ability to use size and strength to stun the defense. I also like how Roach can match his opponent’s strength and create space in the pocket. Roach also proved he can deter the defense and protect his quarterback during the blitz.

Coming in at number six on my list is Treston Kay Treston Kay 5’8″ | 155 lbs | ATH Hopkinsville | 2025 KY , an athlete at Hopkinsville High School. Kay impresses me with his breakaway speed and versatile edge, showcasing strong catching with his ability to turn around for the deep pass. I also like Kay’s quick execution, ability to catch the short pass and his ability to slip past the defense from along the edge. Kay also stands out with his ability to maneuver the pocket and break tackles on his way to the house.

Also worth mentioning is Michael Powell Jr Michael Powell Jr 6’0″ | 200 lbs | QB Owen County | 2025 State KY ., a quarterback at Owen County High School. What I like about Powell’s playstyle is his ability to maneuver the pocket, break tackles and remain composed under pressure. I also like Powell’s ability to move around the field to find an open receiver, impressing with his arm strength and quick release. I also like how Powell can find his receivers for the deep pass.
