It’s made up of four highly skilled defenders and one dominating offensive tackle and all these players have made a case for being the best at their positions not just in Texas, but also nationally. Let’s dive in and find out what makes this group of ballers special.
Black is an electric player who was a playmaker on both sides of the football while he was in high school. Kobe has extended length, with great speed, clean footwork and he uses all of his tools to lock down one side of the field when he lines up at cornerback, the position that he will settle into when he get to the University of Texas. His playmaking ability, combined with his natural ball skills and superb instincts are traits in his game that made him the top defensive back in his class.
Highlights
Xavier checks off all the boxes when it comes to being an elite defender in the secondary. He has great length, he transitions smoothly into his backpedal, which enables him to be in position to makes plays on the football in coverage and he is an excellent on ball defender who loves to get hands on receivers early to get them off of their axis. Xavier has the versatility to line up at multiple positions in the secondary, which makes him a valuable asset defensively. He has spent time at cornerback, safety and can come down in the box and give you meaningful snaps as a strong safety or nickelback. Xavier made a climb into the Top Ten of the PRZ Texas rankings in the most recent update and he will have the chance to get early looks for playing time after signing with Texas in December.
Bridges is 6’3 corner, with excellent length, he is a sticky defender who gets hands on his opponents early in pass defense and he uses his skills to close down passing lanes making it difficult for recievers to breathe on his side of the field. Selman has great instincts, he has disciplined eyes that take him to the football easily and when he closes on the football he attacks it with a vengeance. Bridges was one the biggest Stock Risers in the PRZ Texas Rankings, breaking into the Top Ten in the most recent update and signed with Arkansas in December, where he will have the chance to compete for playing time as a freshman.
Williams is a sideline to sideline defender, who plays fast but under control and he has the speed to attack offenses from all angles and cause havoc. He has a lean, stout frame, with good arm length and he plays with excellent pad level, which enables him to be a sure tackler in the open field. Justin has the skill set that playing making linebackers possess, his ability to shock and shed blockers, keeping his shoulders square to the ball carrier, make him almost unblockable. His speed gives him the ability to cover receivers and runnings backs in the passing game. Williams is headed to Georgia where he will have the chance to push to get on the field early.
Highlights
Michael has the physical makeup that high level offensive tackles possess and he has the athletic traits in his game that make him a dominant force on the offensive side of the football. He has clean, polished footwork, Uini has quick, nimble feet and these skills enable him to get control of his opponents early at engagement. He is physical at the point of attack, he plays thru the whistle and he has a nastiness to his game. He is one the offensive lineman in Texas and finishes up his senior year in the Top Ten in the PRZ Texas rankings. In December his signed with the Georgia Bulldogs, where he will have the chance to challenge for playing time early between the hedges.
