In close pursuit was senior Callen Barta Callen Barta 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Seaman | 2024 State KS from Seaman who hauled in 77 passes, just one behind the top twosome. Beyond the high-flying numbers of the top three, there are quite a few excellent receivers that we will assess below.
Top 5A Pass Catchers for the 2023 Season:
Alex Parks Alex Parks 5'8" | 150 lbs | WR Blue Valley Southwest | 2024 State KS , 5’9, 160, Blue Valley Southwest, ’24 – finished with a class-high total of 83 receptions in helping Blue Valley reach the state semi-finals. On those receptions he gained 1,381 yards, averaging 16.6 yards per reception, with a 75-yard touchdown reception being his longest. Additionally, he led 5A in receiving touchdowns with 20.
Tate Everard Tate Everard 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Blue Valley Southwest | 2024 State KS , 6’2, 171, Blue Valley Southwest, ’24 – as the other half of the dynamic duo, caught 78 passes for the season. He gained 1,299 yards on those receptions, which was third in Class 5A. Additionally, he averaged a strong 16.7 yards per catch and caught 13 touchdowns, with a long of 58 yards.
Callen Barta Callen Barta 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Seaman | 2024 State KS , 6’2, 175, Seaman, ’24 – was in the mix all season for top pass catcher, eventually coming in third with 77 receptions. He produced a 5A-leading 1,441 yards on those 77 and was second in the state averaging 18.7 yards per catch. Along with those eye-popping numbers he also caught 17 touchdown passes.
Lexton Grafke Lexton Grafke 5'10" | 155 lbs | WR Lansing | 2024 State KS , 5’10, 170, Lansing, ’24 – finished in a tie for the fourth slot with 60 pass receptions. He broke the 1,000-yard barrier with 1,068 yards, averaging 17.6 yards per catch. In addition, he scored 10 touchdowns, one of which was a season-long of 77 yards.
Bryson Hayes Bryson Hayes 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Maize | 2025 State KS , 6′, 180, Maize, ’25 – tied for fourth with 60 catches on the season. He produced a total of 962 yards and averaged 16.0 yards per catch. One of his 10 TD receptions was an 85-yard score which was one of the longest of the season.

Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Shawnee Heights | 2025 State KS , 6′, 170, Shawnee Heights, ’24 – caught 54 passes for 688 yards. He added five touchdowns and averaged 12.7 yards per catch; Carter Pabst Carter Pabst 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Eisenhower | 2025 State KS , 6’1, 180, Eisenhower, ’25 who hauled in 51 passes for 893 yards. He also averaged 17.5 yards per catch and scored 19 touchdowns; and Bryer Finley Bryer Finley 6'4" | 185 lbs | WR Seaman | 2025 State KS , 6’4, 185, Seaman, ’25 caught 50 passes for 632 yards. He also scored 10 TDs and averaged 12.6 yards per catch.
