Consensus All-State kicker and 2023 Sports in Kansas Special Teams Player of the Year Jackson McWilliams Jackson McWilliams 5'11" | 180 lbs | K Tonganoxie | 2024 State KS , a senior from Tonganoxie, led 4A going away with 85 total points. His 85-point total was the second-highest among all classes, only trailing Kenton Laughman from 5A Mill Valley who led the state with 89 points.
The top-scoring kickers from 4A included the following:
Jackson McWilliams Jackson McWilliams 5'11" | 180 lbs | K Tonganoxie | 2024 State KS , 5’11, 175, Tonganoxie, ’24 – enjoyed a top-flight senior season by making 98% of his PAT’s, going 55 out of 56 extra point attempts. He was also the top field goal kicker in the state, regardless of class. The strong-legged senior drilled a state-leading 10 field goals in 12 attempts, with a long field goal of 41 yards. He was both All-Conference and a unanimous All-State Class 4A kicker.
Kolten Bonnel, 5’8, 135, Atchison, ’26 – a sophomore climbing to the number two spot with 74 total points. He was successful on 71 of 75 extra points and made the only field goal attempted, from 35 yards out. In addition, he earned Honorable Mention 4A All-State honors as a kicker.
Drew Wilborn, 5’11, 165, Andover Central, ’24 – rounding out the top three, the senior from Andover finished with 49 points. He converted 31 of 40 extra point attempts and chipped in six out of eight field goal attempts, including one from 37 yards. He was also Honorable Mention on the 4A All-State team as a kicker.
Colin Zimbelman Colin Zimbelman 6'1" | 140 lbs | K Basheor-Linwood | 2027 State KS , 5’7, 138, Basehor-Linwood, ’27 – got in on the action early in his high school career as the only freshman on the 4A list of top kickers. He totaled 45 points in the 2023 season, making 39 of 42 extra points for a 93% accuracy rate and also converted two out of three field goals.
Also having standout seasons:
Zac Becker, Coffeyville, ’24 – finished in the fifth slot with a total of 35 points. He was successful on 35 of the 40 extra points attempted. He also attempted two field goals but did not convert any of his attempts.
Kaleb Kirgan, 5’11 185, Kansas City Piper, ’24 – totaled 30 points. He was 21 of 23 on extra points and made 100% of his field goals, going three for three.
Landon Naylor, Rose Hill, ’24 – delivered 23 total points. The Rose Hill senior attempted 28 extra points and made 23. He also attempted three field goals, but did not convert any of them.
