Trey Archuleta Trey Archuleta 5'9" | 165 lbs | QB Escalante | 2024 State NM , Escalante: In Escalante’s final season before moving to 8-man football (at least for the next 2 years), Archuleta showed off his dynamic dual threat skills. In particular, he rushed for over 1,400 yards and scored 22 TD. He’s one of the top 204 prospects in northern new Mexico.
Ricky Armendariz Ricky Armendariz 6'3" | 275 lbs | OL Artesia | 2024 State NM , Artesia: The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Armendariz is one of the top offensive linemen in New Mexico. Because of his tremendous size, mobility and skills, Armendariz has proven popular on the recruiting trail with offers from Eastern New Mexico, New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico. He’ll shine at the next level.
Jayden Bosquez Jayden Bosquez 5'10" | 235 lbs | OL Lovington | 2024 State NM , Lovington: Bosquez was one of the anchors of the Lovington offensive line that helped lead the Wildcats to the Class 5A state championship. He earned First-Team All-District honors on both the offensive and defensive lines. He capped his prep career by participating in the NMHSCA Large School All-Star Game last weekend.
Joshua Calhoon Joshua Calhoon RB Estancia | 2024 State NM , Estancia: Who was the state’s leading rusher in 2023? Calhoon. He finished with a staggering 2,480 yards and 27 TD on 261 carries (2nd most in the state) and 27 TD. But he flew under the radar most of the season. His rushing yardage total as a senior is unofficially the seventh largest single season total in state history.
Adrick Deleon, Espanola Valley: Nobody fueled Espanola Valley’s meteoric rise this season from downtrodden program to Class 4A playoff quarterfinal participant more than Deleon. He was the state’s third leading rusher with 1,887 yards and scored 31 touchdowns on the ground. Only one other ball carrier had more TDs. Most amazing? He had just 27 yards rushing in 2022.
Cade Figg Cade Figg 5'8" | QB Texico | 2024 State NM , Texico: Figg is a big dude at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. He led Texico to the Class 2A state championship as the Wolverines’ quarterback. Figg is being recruited as a tight end. He recently committed to Division II West Texas A&M in nearby Canyon, TX, becoming one of the first players in the 2024 class to make his pledge.
AJ Flores AJ Flores 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB Deming | 2024 State NM , Deming: Flores helped lead Deming to the semifinals of the Class 5A playoffs. He finished his senior season with 78 tackles, 10 pass breakups and 3 interceptions. He was offered by Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday.
Wyatt Gomez Wyatt Gomez 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Lovington | 2024 State NM , Lovington: Talk about making the most of your opportunity. After serving as the backup QB a season ago, Gomez came into the 2023 season knowing he had just one chance to quarterback the Wildcats. He made the most of it by leading Lovington to the 5A championship. He led the state in passing with 3,676 yards and 51 TD.
Jeremiah Jaquez Jeremiah Jaquez 5'8" | 145 lbs | WR Hobbs | 2024 State NM , Hobbs: Jaquez is another player who thrived in the No. 1 role. He was behind Kaden Trevino in 2022 but caught 65 passes for 843 yards and 8 TD as a senior as he developed into one of the top wide receivers in New Mexico. He played in last weekend’s NMHSCA Large School All-Star Game.
Nathaniel Lopez Nathaniel Lopez 6'1" | 260 lbs | DL Gadsden | 2024 State NM , Gadsden: With Lopez dominating along the defensive front, Gadsden has enjoyed two of the best seasons in school history in 2022-23. As a senior, Lopez had 68 tackles, 9.0 TFL and 4 sacks. He represented Gadsden at last weekend’s NMHSCA All-Stare gala. He has been offered by Western New Mexico and Culver-Stockton.
