Continue ReadingOwen Lansu took the state by storm this year leading Downers Grove North to an 11-3 record and a trip to the 7A state championship. Although he is just a sophomore, he looked to be playing like a seasoned vet in the playoffs. It truly was an impressive year for Lansu throwing for over 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns. I was blown away by his arm talent when I turned his film on from this year. He throws a with lot of zip giving him the ability to get the ball into tight windows. He posses great timing and accuracy putting the ball on the money to his receivers. DGN will be blessed will have the luxury of 2 more years of excellent quarterback play for Lansu.
Lucas Deines
Lucas Deines
Lucas Deines was impressive this year for the Knights. Deines is a good athlete with the ability to run as well. I can tell Deines has a background in baseball, he has a live arm with a quick release. He can get the ball out fast with little wasted motion. Deines play relates well to today’s offensive schemes. As Deines continues to develop I look for him to keep getting better and better. With his sophomore season under his belt I look for him to pop on coaches radars this offseason.
Johnny O’Brien
Johnny O’Brien
Johnny O’Brien has the ability to push the ball down field with his arm strength. His film is impressive because he showcases his ability to be versatile within his offense. He’s not afraid to go under center for a deep play action shot, something you don’t see too much anymore at the high school level. O’brien excels at keeping his eyes down field while extending plays. The sophomore lefty ended up throwing for 1879 yard and in 17 touchdowns this year. O’Brien will be a guy that will wow coaches at camps when they get a chance to see him throw live in person. Look for him to have a big summer in 2024.
Kenyonte Louis
Kenyonte Louis
Kenyonte Louis ending up lighting up the stat sheets this year. He was so impressive he ended up being named: Offensive Player of the year in the Chicago Catholic League Red as a sophomore. He was a true dual-threat throwing for 1,882 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 731 yards and 11 touchdowns. Very impressive numbers for Louis. When you pop the film on you really see the big play ability he possess that hurt opposing defenses all year long. College coaches have taken notice inviting Louis to game-day visits this past season.
