Continue ReadingI was on the sideline for the game between two schools with storied football programs. The Western Regional Final had high anticipation leading up to the start of the game. Reidsville offensive unit moved the ball down the field on its first possession to score and dominated Shelby throughout the game. Reidsville’s total dominance of Shelby resulted in a 49 – 14 victory. The players listed in this review caught my attention throughout the game.
Reidsville HS
Kendre Harrison Kendre Harrison 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Reidsville | 2026 State NC – DL, 6’7″ 245 (No. 1 TE, No. 3 Overall). Kendre displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He displayed quickness out of his stance to make contact with blockers while moving past them for stops. He finished the game with 6 total tackles and 3 tackles for losses. Kendre had dominant performances on both sides of the ball at Defensive End and at Tight End.
Johnniyus Sharpe Johnniyus Sharpe 6'3" | 170 lbs | DB Reidsville | 2025 State NC – DB, 6’3″ 170 (No. 28 DB, Watchlist). Johnniyus displayed good speed and changed directions quickly to cover receivers. He displayed good technique and use of arms while defending receivers, making it difficult to complete a pass against him. He finished the game with 8 total tackles and 2 interceptions. Johnniyus should start to receive recruiting interest from schools.
Paul Widerman Paul Widerman 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Reidsville | 2024 State NC – LB, 6’0″ 220 (No. 17 LB, No. 161 Overall). Paul displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover a lot of ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier. He displayed patience to let the play develop before reacting quickly to make stops. The Lafayette College commit finished the game with 7 total tackles.
Devin Shryock – DL, 6’2″ 190. He displayed good technique and use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He finished the game with 7 total tackles.
Aidan Mansfield – LB, 6’2″ 190. Aidan displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier. He displayed good reaction to track the ball carrier and make stops. He finished the game with 7 total tackles.
Juhkeir Pinnix – DB, 5’10” 155. He displayed good speed and changed directions quickly while covering receivers. He displayed good technique and use of arms while defending receivers. He finished the game with 8 total tackles.
Shelby HS
Jah’Keevi Garnett – LB, 6’3″ 205. Jah’Keevi displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier. He displayed patience to let the play develop before reacting quickly to make stops. He finished the game with 10 total tackles and 2 tackles for losses.
Nick Norris – LB, 6’0″ 190. Nick displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier. He displayed patience to let the play develop before reacting quickly to make stops. He finished the game with 11 total tackles and 1 tackle for a loss. Nick should start to receive recruiting interest from schools.
Kameron Tate – LB, 5’11” 175. Kameron displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier for stops. He displayed good reaction to track the ball carrier and make stops. He finished the game with 6 total tackles and 1 tackle for a loss.
Tre Fuller – DL, 6’0″ 220. Tre displayed good technique and use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He finished the game with 4 total tackles and 1 tackle for a loss.
Jaden Pierce Jaden Pierce 6'2" | 290 lbs | DL Shelby | 2024 State NC – DL, 6’3″ 290 (No. 14 DL, No. 54 Overall). Jaden displayed good technique and violent hands to control blockers while moving past them to close in on the ball carrier. He moved well in tight spaces to shut down inside running plays. He displayed quickness and upper body strength to overpower blockers while moving past them to make stops. Jaden finished the game with 8 total tackles. He has received several D1 offers and may receive additional offers.
