His adaptability allowed him to contribute effectively across various positions, proving impactful in both pass and run defense. Friend's role extended to setting the edge, maintaining containment, and disrupting passing lanes in the middle of the field. Playing with a combination of speed and physicality, he executed crucial stops in the backfield and demonstrated an ability to separate opponents from the ball.
