Continue ReadingNo excuse as to why I haven’t written about this young man, or why I don’t have him inside the top 100 of the 2025 Class rankings where he clearly belongs. 1,400 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards 20+ touchdowns on the year for Strath Haven’s James Fisher IV James Fisher IV 5’10” | 175 lbs | ATH Strath Haven | 2025 State PA . Two-way player, tape begins with Fisher accelerating down the sideline running a wheel route that he catches 40+ yards downfield. All the stats and production is great to see and hear, yet his reps at slot corner are nothing short of elite. I hardly ever use that word. Read and reacts skills are equivalent if not better than any CB in his class. Great communicator, can bounce between curl/flat zones. Is a tone-setting tackler, one who sparks the sideline and deflates both his target and the opposing sideline. His understanding of route concepts is second to none. No doubt this kid could play any DB position at the HS level. No problem ranking him inside the top 100 based on his defensive reps alone.
Offensively, a weapon that can do damage and break a game open from the backfield both as a pass-catcher and runner. Has the stride that has him gliding through defenses like he isn’t breaking a sweat. I haven’t looked, but I can almost guarantee this kid runs track and a high level based on how he out-strides defensive angles with ease. Shows good pacing and vision at the handoff, hits the hole like he’s shot out of a cannon. Incredible knowledge of gap schemes, witnessed setting up his blocks not only in the open field, but also between the tackles with said pacing. The hands he possesses is just icing on the cake. Bit of a chester, but has reps skying for balls thrown his way downfield. Plugging on his tape had me reaching out to coaches almost immediately.
Published his junior tape in time for the junior rankings update coming soon. Can serve as the strong side DE in a four-down-lineman front. Can operate with his hand on or off the dirt, majority looks to be with his hand on. Doesn’t weigh much so power might be a concern, until you see how he can out-leverage kids. Seen taking double-teams and shedding. Seen taking the brunt of flow his way, all while standing his ground and shedding. Again, Vincent Hales Vincent Hales 6’0″ | 200 lbs | DL Strath Haven | 2025 State PA doesn’t blow you away in a shirt and shorts, but plug on the tape and you’ll be impressed how he sheds and disengages. Linebacker build, Strath Haven likes to use this kid around the edge of the front seven, I’d bet he’d produce at inside linebacker too. Aggression and awesome finishers between he and Fisher on the defense.
Jahi Curtis
Jahi Curtis
Here’s a kid I’m excited about for one main reason. I don’t think Jahi Curtis has reached the ceiling of his development yet. A SH coach put me onto this young man’s game and made sure I saw his tape, I’m grateful because of it. Jahi Curtis, can line up shading the guard or tackle, stands at 6’4 and likely weighs over 220+. The build is an attractive one, the film impresses too. You can tell just how raw the young man is at this point in time, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that he’s new to football or is a multi-sport kid. Good get-off, if he doesn’t win with speed you can witness Curtis attempt to win with a bull-rush. Good finisher too, much like Fisher and Hales. Does a solid job finding the football/ball carrier after shedding and pursuing. Good motor, good drive from his lower body. I just think this kid can be even better with additional development. High ceiling player with an already high floor. Just another piece that will be coming back to this special defense.
Philip Collins
Philip Collins
Don’t see a full season tape out of Philip Collins, I’ll save an evaluation for a future date. Could be a piece to the trench puzzle for Strath Haven moving forward. See some single-game cut-ups on tape showcasing that the kid might be a two-way player contributing at IOL/IDL.
Shane Green
Shane Green
Shane Green is a junior without measurables on Hudl. Junior tape showcases his abilities at RB/LB. Boasts a 4.0 GPA as he should. Apparently equally productive an offensive weapon as James Fisher IV James Fisher IV 5’10” | 175 lbs | ATH Strath Haven | 2025 State PA which is surprising. 80 tackles added to his end-of-season stat sheet too. Does a great job following his lead-blocking FB on toss/sweeps running off tackle. What a tandem he creates with Fisher, both similar builds and running styles. I love that he is a heavy producer with the ball in his hands, contributing 14 scores this past Fall. Yet, I’m enamored with his abilities at LB too. Can take on blockers with authority, unphased by traffic and misdirection. Just another promising defender. Fisher in the secondary, Green in plugging gaps, and Curtis/Hales wreaking havoc up front. This is a defense I might want to see before the 2024 season begins. Looks to be stationed at WILL, could likely play SAM backer too.
