Brendan Roehr
Brendan Roehr
I said it earlier in the season and I will say it again, Brendan is one of my favorite offensive linemen to watch across the state. He’s a mauler by nature, but he is also very technically sound with good fundamentals and the strength to be great! He’s big and physical, and I mean PHYSICAL! His film shows pancake after pancake, even earning some pancakes on passes! His legs are extremely strong and he just gets underneath the defender, lifts up and takes them for a ride! If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and check out his Hudl, you definitely won’t be disappointed.
Ben has all the tools to be extremely successful. I absolutely love what he has in his tool belt and what he could add. His film is a teach tape on how to absolutely bury your opponent. He can be seen multiple times taking his defender 20+ yards out of the play, just to drop them on their back at the whistle. He is one of the most nasty and physical linemen we have in our state, and he is still quite young and raw! As he hones his craft, he is going to be a problem! He is trending towards D1 right now, likely in the Big Ten.
Derrick Simmons
Derrick Simmons
Derrick is a bulldozer. I really enjoyed seeing him play this year and I got the pleasure a few different times. Each time he was consistent and won most of his reps regardless of who was in front of him. Even when he was smaller, he was able to get low, use leverage and move them anyways. I was extremely impressed with how well coached he is and his clear showings of football IQ. I would think D3 colleges at least would be showing interest soon.
This dude is a ready made P5 star. This dude is an absolute people mover with the mobility, strength and technique that is nearly impossible to find. He’s one of the most sought after recruits in the entire state and his tape shows why. He moves incredibly well, has great drive with the hands, and finishes his blocks with force. I really like his first step off the ball, and the fact that he stays low. On passes, sometimes he seems beat but he recovers incredibly well. He’s super athletic and twitchy for a lineman, and it serves him well getting that edge from the start of the play. Keep this guy in your sights as he will be playing high level D1 ball.
Highlights
When the lights were brightest, Wynn was an absolute dude! Needing to mount a comeback in the state championship game, N-Kye was laying it all on the line for his team and paving the way! He absolutely stood out as clearly very strong, and was determined to bury his opponent. His agility in pass sets serves him well as he is never beat. He stays low, keeps a wide base and strong hands. Muskegon is known for their strong lines, and this guy is just another product of great coaching and hard work. Absolutely loving his trajectory and looking forward to what he can do in 2025.
