Carter is a very balanced runner with good speed and burst near the LOS, while able to run tough in-between the tackles and also has the speed to gain the edge on the outside and bounce it when needed. He shows quick feet through the hole, can make defenders miss in tight windows and shows contact balance while tough to bring down in traffic and the open field. Carter also shows a third gear in the clear with cutback abilities and is seemingly comfortable running behind his blockers in gap schemes while knowing how to read flow and shows good vision when cutting back against traffic. He is rated as a two-star recruit across multiple sites, and is looking to be a next level steal at the college level.
Highlights
Avery had a tremendous Senior season for the NCS D-II champion Gauchos. He is a very physical downhill back that runs violent, looks for contact and is a natural pass catcher out of the backfield while a smooth runner in space. Avery is a north and south runner with good vision in tight windows, follows his blockers and shows some explosiveness at the second level. He can run through arm and ankle tackles while showing good leg drive at the POA and it takes multiple tacklers to bring him down in the open field. His mixture of having a balanced running style and physicality, along with his pass catching abilities make him a very intriguing prospect and one of the very best backs Norcal has to offer. Currently he remains uncommitted but holds offers from Army, Portland State, Columbia and Utah State.
Davis is a big and physical back at 6’2 and over 200 pounds and runs well behind his pads with natural forward lean and always looks for contact in the hole. He is a north and south runner with good leg drive through contact, and can easily break arm and ankle tackles and gain the tough yards inside the tackles. He has deceptive open field speed with cutback abilities, and flashes short area quickness and lateral movement abilities while able to make defenders miss in the hole. The bruising back has rushed for over 2,500 yards over the last two seasons and 35+ touchdowns, and is a no brainer FCS caliber kid at the next level. He has been flying under the radar over the past two seasons and is one to watch for as we move through the first national signing day.
