With each section receiving a 1st Team All WNY and a 2nd Team All WNY. Today, I am going to discuss the underclassmen who made 2nd Team All WNY (Large Schools) on the Offensive side of the ball. This is a great group of football players that I think will make an impact in 2024 and reach their potential of making 1st Team.
One of the more consistent high school prospects, Panepinto took every snap at Quarterback for Sweet Home in 2023. A two year Varsity starter, Rocco has thrown a touchdown in 16 of the 18 games he has played in his career. Panepinto is big and physical and has a quick release. His mobility makes it hard to defend and his 6’3 frame makes him hard to bring down. Rocco Panepinto Rocco Panepinto 6’4″ | 185 lbs | QB Sweet Home | 2025 State NY has improved immensely from a 2-7 record and a 71/148 – 1,259 yards – 12 TDs stat line in 2022 to 6-3 and going 118/196 – 1,759 yards – 17 TDs and leading the Panthers to the playoffs as the #4 seed in 2023. At this rate, I don’t see how Panepinto doesn’t make 1st Team All WNY as a Senior as well as guiding Sweet Home to a Class A Championship run.

A struggling Lumberjacks team relied heavily on workhorse Running Back, Christian Earnst Christian Earnst 5’10” | 205 lbs | ATH North Tonawanda | 2025 State NY . It’s safe to say Earnst has the talent to make 1st Team as he led all of Class A with 1,082 yards rushing in 9 games and 16 touchdowns, including a 98 yard breakaway score vs rival, Tonawanda late in the season. Christian possesses incredible quickness and blazing speed (5 of his 16 touchdowns were 50+ yards long). He also has phenomenal vision and excellent balance. This is a special player and given the chance will be in the running for 1st Team All WNY as a Senior.

A major benefactor of WNY Offensive Player of the Year, QB Bryce Tubin Bryce Tubin 6’2″ | 215 lbs | QB Clarence | 2025 NY , Wind led the Red Devils and was 3rd in all of Section VI with 51 Receptions. He also had 701 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. Patrick is a crisp route runner with fantastic hands, rarely letting the ball hit his chest. It seemed when the games were the tightest, Wind rose to the occasion. In a 30-27 win over Frontier in Week 1, Wind came up big catching 8 passes for 122 yards. His biggest game was a 28-26 dogfight victory over Lockport where he had 9 catches for 184 yards and 3 TDs. Clarence’s leader in yards and touchdowns in 2023, Cory Cummins Cory Cummins 6’0″ | 165 lbs | WR Clarence | 2024 NY is graduating this year, leaving the door wide open for Tubin and Wind to dominate their Senior seasons.
Tray Thompson Tray Thompson 5’9″ | 185 lbs | ATH Lockport | 2025 State NY made the All WNY 2nd Team as a “Flex” player. Listed as a Wide Receiver, Thompson contributed in various ways. His work at WR was overshadowed by Senior and 1st Team All WNY player, Shey Williams Shey Williams 5’11” | 175 lbs | ATH Lockport | 2024 State NY . But Lockport got the ball in Thompson’s hands any way they could, compiling 584 All Purpose yards and 9 touchdowns. A case can be made that Tray Thompson Tray Thompson 5’9″ | 185 lbs | ATH Lockport | 2025 State NY was most valuable as a defensive back with 61 tackles, 5 INTs, a fumble recovery and 2 defensive TDs in 2023. Tray has a knack for tracking down the football and once it is caught, he is always a threat to take it to the house with his 4.4 type speed. As Williams is graduating this year, Thompson could be in line for 1st Team All WNY on offense as a Senior but I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it as a Defensive Back.

Another 2-way stud from Lockport, Stiglmeier helped an offensive line spring their running game to 1,404 yards and 18 Touchdowns. But much like Tray Thompson Tray Thompson 5’9″ | 185 lbs | ATH Lockport | 2025 State NY , Lucas Stiglmeier Lucas Stiglmeier 6’1″ | 215 lbs | DL Lockport | 2025 State NY made his presence felt on defense. As a two year varsity player at Defensive End, Stiglmeier racked up 112 tackles (9 for loss), 4 sacks, a fumble recovery and a safety. Lucas has excellent hand technique and great football intelligence. He knows how to react to Halfback screens, ability to read Run/Pass Options and amazing closing speed from the End position. Stiglmeier will be a senior in 2024 and is sure to end his high school career on the All WNY Team yet again.
