In efforts, to help players find those future homes, we will be taking a look at hidden gems across the state over the next several weeks starting today with some of the top gems in Philadelphia.
Quality sized linebacker at 6-foot-0 and 180-pounsd with good athelticism and spee,d a reported 4.54 forty yard dash. Shows a good fotoball IQ and has a high-motor. Plays well against the pass but also downhill against the run on a consistent basis. With his size, could project well to a safety at the next level. All around a high-quality athlete who has quite a bit of versatility also playing running back for Germantown academy.
Intriguing quarterback prospect with ideal size at 6-foot-3 and about 200-pounds. Played in seven games this season for Abington, completing 109-of-174 passing attempts (62.6%) for 1,291 yards and 10 toucdhwons. Also had 151 rushing yards. Shows good arm strength to go with his quality accuracy.
It’s hard to not love the size of Stamps at 6-foot-4 and 170-pounds. That type of size is rare to find in a wide receiver and perhaps he’s better positioned to play tight end or on the defnesive side of the ball but the size, and length that he has is certaintly ideal. Shows quality but not elite speed, does make up for it, however, ith long strides. Will need to add considerable weight and muscle, could be a prospect that benefits greatly from the JUCO route as well.
Pure raw potential is the best way to describe Herrington. This season was only his second year playing football I believe. Possesses good size at 6-foot-4 and 260-pounds with pelnty of room to add more weight. His senior season highlights do show improvement from last season but patience will still be needed with the Bartram offensive lineman going forward with his development.
Smaller sized running back but has been prodcutive throughout his high schooll career. Shows good balance and a center of gravity, has a good burst to his game and has the vision to combine with it. Has the ability to hit a second and third gear on longer runs. Totaled 852 yards and six touchdowns this season.
Productive defensive back for monsignor Bonner with the ability to play both cornerback and safety. Plays well in coverage but also provides quality run support from the top. Recorded over 60 tackles in 28 career games with 10 pass breakups and three itnerceptions. Not afraid to be physical which could allow him to be used as an extra linebacker as well agianst the run. Also had five tackes for loss, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Very smart kid on and off the field with a 3.9 GPA.
He may be on the samller side but Scott makes up for it with his speed, elusviness, and agility. Could be a very good slot receiver or return specialist at the college level where his speed, body control, and balance could be used to the maximum. Shows a consistent ability to get seperation from defenders.
Very productive defensive back / linebacker for Mosignor Bonner recording 50 solo tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Quality size at 5-foot-10 and 182-pounds as well as pretty good speed as well with a reported 4.65 forty-yard dash. Shows the ability to play both zone and man coverage, smooth hips, smart player with good football IQ. Also has a 3.8 GPA in the classroom.
A key member of SJP’s offensive line this season, Toolan is a nice sized offensive line prosepct at 6-foot-5 and 250-pounds. He’ll be a guard at the next level and shows a quick first step off the line and has quality burst to his game. Does get beat by some of the faster defensive linemen he faces but does a good consistent job of getting to the point of attack and mainting his block. Will need work in the weight room at his next program. Plays with good bit of balence and bend as well.
