Continue ReadingEvery Sunday and throughout the week following Friday HS Football Game Day, Prep Redzone scout Drew Johnson will be highlighting some of the standouts and notable performances from the weekend. Teams around the state kicked off week one and there were certainly some “Game Changers” and Notable Prospects to note. Starting this week, we will be highlighting some of the top stat producers this season who deserve the spotlight. Some of these kids are committed to college programs while others are being slept on but No Doubt this is the RealDeal Prospect List of some recruits who can play at the next level.
Note: If you feel we missed a prospect or have a notable athlete worth mentioning, DM me @RealNews102.
Carl Jenkins Carl Jenkins 6'3" | 165 lbs | WR St. Augustine | 2025 FL Jr | WR | 2025 | SAHS | @thecarljenkins
2023 stats: 34 catches, 723 yards, 10 TDs, 90.4 YPG
Jenkins has stamped himself as one of the top 2025 WR prospects in the state after earning All-District honors in his junior season. Jenkins is an electric athlete with sticky-glue hands and is a home run threat after the catch. Jenkins has flashed good route-running skills and initial release while using basketball-esque hops to beat defenders mid-air for contested catches. He’s also displayed vapor speed to beat defenders in coverage and is equally lethal in open space. A rising prospect that should be on all Florida universities’ radar.
Vernell Brown III Vernell Brown III 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Orlando Jones | 2025 State FL | WR | 2025 | Jones | @VB3_9
2023 stats: 43 receptions, 811 yards, 8 TDs, 90.1 YPG
I’ve had the opportunity to scout Brown the past couple of years and watch him develop into a true Power 5 prospect. From competing with one of the top 7v7 teams in the state to dominating with the pads on, the son of former Gators cornerback/wide receiver/returner Vernell Brown Jr is money on the gridiron in his own right. He’s flashed advanced route-running skills & sure hand capabilities for the next level. Just check the film, this kid will be an early production piece for whoever lands his talents.
Isaiah Riggins | WR | 2024 | Wiregrass | @isaiahriggins3
2023 stats: 67 receptions, 1134 yards, 12 TDs, 137.8 YPG
Riggins has put his name on the map this season as a true production piece that can make an impact at the D1 level. Riggins became just the 10th Pasco County student-athlete to have 1,000+ receiving yards in a single-season. He’s electric in the slot, beating defensive backs with initial quickness and slick route running. Riggins helped his 2024 QB Luke Knight to a record-breaking season, as he reached 3,000 regular-season passing yards in just nine games. A video game like duo this season for Wiregrass with still games left on the schedule.
Blake Wallace | WR | 2025 | Spanish River | @BlakeWallace_14
2023 stats: 55 receptions, 1063 yards, 16 TDs, 118.1 YPG
Wallace has jumped onto my radar since his 100+ performance in Week One. He’s been a consistent scoring threat all season with nearly 20 total TDs for Spanish River. He’s a big-play playmaker who is dangerous after the catch with good speed and open-field moves. Wallace has a college-ready frame at 6’2, 175 pounds with another year to add weight and develop technique.
Joshua Porter | WR | 2024 | Fort Meade | @PorterJoshuaWR2
2023 stats: 26 receptions, 389 yards, 5 TDs, 55.6 YPG
The 2024 Fort Meade product has been one of the more complete WR prospects to come out of Polk County in recent years. He’s currently committed to USF as he’s dominated his competition since the off-season period. Porter is a route-running demon that breaks off defenders as he stops on a dime and is learning to stack defensive backs. He can also be dangerous after the catch with decent speed and awareness.
CJ Bragg CJ Bragg 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Cocoa | 2024 FL | WR | Class of 2024 | Cocoa | @CJBragg6
2023 stats: 54 catches, 768 yards, 5 TDs
Bragg has put the work in since the off-season and it’s nice to see him put it all together and help his squad to a successful season. Not sure how he continues to be overlooked as he’s second on the team in total receiving yards while flashing slick route running and sure hands. He can provide for many FCS/NAIA colleges in the state of Florida who are missing out on a production piece.
Michael Key Michael Key 6'0" | 195 lbs | WR Sanford Seminole | 2024 FL | WR | Class of 2024 | Seminole | @michaelkey711
2023 stats: 32 receptions, 508 yards, 7 TDs
Key has been on my radar for a couple of years and is for sure the real deal. He will produce early on at the next level as he continues to grow his frame and develop technique. No matter the rank, he’s one of the top receivers in the state.
Offers: USF, Iowa State, Mississippi State, and more
Justin Rosado | WR | Class of 2024 | Seminole | @@JrTheElectric13
2023 stats: 29 receptions, 450 yards, 3 TDs
Rosado has been stamped as a playmaker, somehow still getting slept on but continues to produce for Seminole. He’s a big-play machine that’ll quickly catch a 40+ yarder to put his team in position to score. Rosado has good upside and skills to land a roster spot at the next level. He’s shown off decent speed, good hands, and WR IQ to be a consistent producer.
Joshua Jones Joshua Jones 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH FL | ATH | Class of 2027 | Zarephath | triplej_3x
2023 stats: 37 receptions, 1044 yards, 9 TDs, 149.1 YPG
Jones is the youngest prospect on the list but you wouldn’t think that seeing him in person. He presents one of the best physiques I’ve seen on a rising freshman wide receiver and he’s been able to transfer all of the hard work in the off-season to the gridiron.
Carson Hinshaw | WR | 2024 | Lake Mary | @carsonhinshaw3
2023 stats: 48 receptions, 875 yards, 17 TDs
Hinshaw has the most total receiving touchdowns on the list with nearly 20 total this season! He’s developed into a true production piece for Lake Mary’s offense and has generated some interest in his college recruitment with video game-like numbers. A sleeper receiver that can be a Game Changer for an FCS/DII program.
Kendall Johnson | ATH | Class of 2025 | ZCA | @KxndallJxhnson
2023 stats: 45 receptions, 778 yards, 15 TDs
Johnson is leading Pasco County in total TDs (15) after another three-score performance in a huge district win. He’s a touchdown machine and provides kicking duties while running the wildcat when needed. A true versatile athlete for ZCA who will be a DOG at the next level.
Isaiah Mizell Isaiah Mizell 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Orlando Boone | 2025 State FL | WR | Class of 2025 | Boone | @IsaiahMizell
The younger brother of Florida Gators WR Aidan Mizell is making a name for himself this junior season with Boone High as he’s recorded 35 receptions for 714 receiving yards and 17 TDs as the regular season concludes.
Makih Johnson | WR | Class of 2025 | Clearwater Academy International | @Makihjohnson2
One of the top rising junior receivers has picked up steam this offseason earning multiple big-time offers following a productive spring showcase and various camp showings. Has all the tools in the box to be a Power 5 product with plenty of time to add to his frame.
Recent Offers: USF, UCONN, Toledo, Indiana, WKU, FAU, Iowa State
JoJo Scott JoJo Scott 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB Lakeland Victory Christian | 2025 FL | ATH | 2025 | Victory Christian | @jojoscott0
On Friday nights, Scott is the main attraction for Victory Christian’s offense as he’s a home run type player that has made some big-time catches while making plays on both sides of the ball.
Best of the Rest:
Caden Harshbarger | WR | 2024 | Lake Mary | @cadenharsh
2023 stats: 37 receptions, 706 yards, 7 TDs
Kordell Lewis | WR | 2024 Lake Gibson | @kordell_lewis
2023 stats: 21 receptions, 400+ yards, 5 TDs
Evan Van Dyke | WR | 2024 | Winter Park | @EvanVanDyke
2023 stats: 25 receptions, 547 yards, 6 TD, 91.2 YPG
Demetrice McCray Demetrice McCray 6'0" | 190 lbs | WR Orlando The First Academy | 2026 FL | WR | 2026 | Leesburg | @DemetriceMccr13
2023 stats: 26 receptions, 576 yards, 7 TDs, 64.0 YPG
Rick Penick | Class of 2024 | Lakeland | @rick_p7
2023 stats: 21 receptions, 327 yards, 3 TDs
Penick has flashed his slick route running skills and good agility after the catch in several 7-on-7 contests that I’ve had the opportunity to watch. He’s tough on the gridiron no matter the size with fundamental slick footwork and a good burst to gain RAC with the ball in his hands. Penick recently transferred to the 2022 state champion Lakeland Dreadnaughts with a chance to really generate big interest around his recruitment.
Thomas Jackson Thomas Jackson 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Jacksonville First Coast | 2024 FL II | WR | Class of 2024 | @24TJack
2023 stats: 37 receptions, 541 yards, 8 TD, 60.1 YPG
Marquet Williams | WR | Class of 2024 | Oviedo | @MarquettWilliam4
2023 stats: 52 receptions | 836 yards | 15 TDs
Hudl: Marquet Williams – Hudl
Jamar Taylor Jr Jamar Taylor Jr 6'1" | 205 lbs | WR Lakeland | 2024 FL | 2024 ATH | Lakeland | @JamarTaylorJr1
I was able to watch Glover line up on both sides of the ball while his coach and I watched him compete. Decent coverage skills but excels at the receiver position. Plenty of time to develop.
Kenyon Alston Kenyon Alston 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Bishop Moore Catholic | 2026 FL | WR | 2026 | Bishop Moore | @KenyonAlston
Alston continues to develop as a rising 2026 WR prospect who has advanced route-running skills combined with decent speed.
Israel Marion Israel Marion 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Lantana Santaluces | 2025 FL | WR | 2025 | Santaluces | @1lilizz
Been putting it out to the recruiting world to get eyes on Marion since the spring session. He helped take down his former team Spanish River with some big-time catches.
