From camps and combines – to 7-on-7 tournaments, spring, summer and the regular season – it is our objective to promote prospects and teams in the Sunshine State.
Along with Shannon Jordan and Andrew Johnson, this past season has been one that defines what Prep Redzone Florida is all about, and as we head toward the state playoffs, we will continue to do what we have done all along.
As the first round of the playoffs gets under way today, we will spotlight five football senior football players who have helped to lead their respective teams into the post season with perfect records. Panama City Bozeman, Clearwater Central Catholic, defending 3S state champion Lake Wales, Miami Norland and defending 1R champs Hawthorne have gone the entire regular season without a loss.
Payton Gay, QB/DB, 5-11, 190, Panama City Bozeman. Here is a versatile prospect who not only plays quarterback and defensive back, but his leadership as a student (4.43 GPA) and as a baseball prospect. His arm strength and accuracy has contributed to the Bucks’ success this season as a No. 1 seed.
Andy Jaffe Andy Jaffe WR Clearwater Central Catholic | 2024 State FL , SS, 6-1, 190, Clearwater Central Catholic. For the past two years, this Ole Miss commitment has been a leader and catalyst for the Marauders as a dominating defensive secondary performers and on special teams. In the season-finale against 2M power Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons his blocked punt helped this team remain unbeaten. Also gets it done in the classroom.
Rashad Orr, RB/CB, 5-10, 185, Lake Wales. Talk about a gifted football talent, this impressive young man has truly lifted the Highlanders to 24 straight wins. He not only runs the ball and gives the offense a boost, but this quality talent gets it done in the classroom (3.8 GPA) and as standout on the track team. If this team is going to repeat, here is one of the big reasons.
Juan Rodriguez, RB, 5-10, 190, Miami Norland. In one of the best seasons in recent school history where the Vikings beat national power Miami Central to win the district and Florida power Miami Booker T. Washington. An early summer commitment to Bethune Cookman University, many believe that this talented young man could be the best senior back in the region. He came to Norland from Miami Beach.
Andrew Zock Andrew Zock 6'2" | 235 lbs | LB Citra North Marion | 2024 FL , OLB/DE, 6-2, 240, Hawthorne. There is no getting around the fact that this Navy commit is one of the best – and he continues to show it for a program looking to defend its state title. The former Citra North Marion standout does it all. His ability to tackle, come up with quarterback sacks, tackles for loss, pressures forced fumble and show leadership is the reason why this quality team will be the favorite to win it all once again. Keep your eye on his future as well.
