2024 5’11 170 QB – Nathan Furgeson – Landon
On Saturday, Nathan Furgeson played one of his best games so far this year. He took tremendous care of the football, finishing the day with zero turnovers, and he also ended the game with a phenomenal 101.6 QBR. Furgeson was 10/18 passing for 150 yards and a touchdown, and he ran the ball super effectively as well. He carried the ball 7 times for 28 yards, and he did not shy away from physicality. The Bears’ Senior QB deserves a lot of credit for their solid 5-3 overall record so far in 2023. Landon already defeated the current IAC conference leader during the regular season, so there’s no reason why they can’t make a run during the upcoming postseason!
2025 5’9 175 RB – DP Pope DP Pope 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Landon | 2025 MD – Landon
DP Pope DP Pope 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Landon | 2025 MD flourished as the Bears’ RB1 against a very solid Bullis defense. With his performance, he earned my Player of the Game Award, and his numbers really speak for themselves. He led the Landon team in carries, with 13, and he managed to tally about 50 yards and a touchdown on the day. Setting and catching screens, DP Pope DP Pope 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Landon | 2025 MD was active in the passing game, but he primarily handled the ball and led the charge in a huge win for his team. The Bears face St. Stephen’s next this upcoming Saturday!
2024 5’7 155 RB – Anthony Panetti – Landon
Landon’s win over Bullis was a team win for the Bears, and nobody’s performance embodies that effort more than Senior RB Anthony Panetti. Taking handoffs in short yardage situations, Panetti did the dirty work for his team in this game, and he powered through the line of scrimmage with force on every single carry. He ran the ball with conviction in this game, and he racked-up about 60 all-purpose yards and a touchdown as a result. Anthony Panetti is certainly the type of relentless ball carrier that everyone wants on their team, and I am certain that his presence in the backfield will benefit the Bears immensely this postseason!
2026 5’8 170 WR – Ubie Zaid – Landon
Sophomore wide receiver Ubie Zaid of Landon was definitely the team’s most productive pass catcher on Saturday night. He made a team leading 4 receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown, and he proved that he can really expose defenses with his quickness in the short passing game. Zaid is absolutely one of the top receiver prospects in the IAC’s 2026 class, and he should be considered one of the most exciting young prospects in the conference regardless of position. The future of Landon’s receiving corps is extremely bright with Ubie Zaid in their lineup!

2024 6’1 180 DB – Zack Cameron – Landon
Zack Cameron earned my Defensive Player of the Game Award from this IAC rivalry game. He hauled-in the only interception of the contest, and he made five total tackles on the day. Cameron has been supremely important to this defense throughout the year, and I believe he will continue to play dominant football for the Bears deep into November. Zack Cameron is a shining star at the defensive back position for this Landon Bears team!
