What we do during the course of a year is provide many of those gifted young men with an opportunity for colleges and universities to watch their video and learn a little about them – on and off the playing field.
During the playoffs, there are dozens of prospects who step up and help their respective programs, and we recognize those talented football players.
Today, we bring you five more players who have raised the bar during the state playoffs:
2025 – Harper Campbell, LB/SS/Athlete, 5-10, 185, Niceville. When you have a gifted football talent like this you make sure that you take full advantage of what he brings to the table. No matter if it’s making tackles, rushing the passer, recovering fumbles, or picking off passes, this is someone who can change a game. His work in the classroom (4.39 GPA) is also something that continues to keep in the spotlight with college coaches. In the playoff game last week, he had an interception, 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and a blocked punt.
2024 – Ladainian Sweeney, RB, 5-10, 175, Orlando Bishop Moore. Watch him run the ball and you have a talent that gets through the hole fast and is able to get to the next level. In last week’s contest, he rushed for two touchdowns and 122 yards. It’s that kind of contribution that helps to keep the Hornets in the spotlight. He also gets it done in the classroom, boasting a 3.8 GPA and an ACT score of 30.
2024 – Jayden Taylor Jayden Taylor 5'10" | 190 lbs | DB William M. Raines | 2024 FL , SS, 5-10, 182, Jacksonville Raines. When you win 10 games during the course of a season, there is always a reason why. This quality talent has helped to raise the bar for this program as he showed this past week – with two pick-sixes for the Vikings. While colleges are watching his progress on the football field, they are also checking out his work in the classroom (3.1 GPA).
2024 – Jeremy Thomas, QB, 6-2, 190, Largo. One of the most athletic and productive quarterbacks in the state of Florida, he has kept the Packers relevant this season with his ability to create and make plays. Last week, he was outstanding by completing 7 of 14 passes for 241 yards and 1 touchdown. He added 23 carries for 151 yards and two scores. His nearly 400 yards on offense fueled the win.
2025 – Latavious Welch Latavious Welch 5'8" | 170 lbs | ATH Eau Gallie | 2025 FL , RB, 5-8, 170, Eau Gallie. In a region loaded with prospects and playmakers, here is yet another talent that has shown that he can give his program a major offensive lift like his runs of 82, 63 and 60 yards, the latter a touchdown this past week. Another student/athlete who gets it done on the football field and in the classroom (3.5 GPA).
