Brady Allen
Allen compiled 6 total TDs and 200+ yards, completing 10/14 passes for 3 TDs and rushing another 24 times for 172 yards and 3 TDs. He’s one of the most dynamic and versatile players in the D-II playoffs with his ability to make plays from multiple positions on both sides of the ball. #5-Point Loma will face #4-Scripps Ranch in the D-II quarterfinals this Friday.
Boynton posted 10 tackles, 2 TFLs, recovered his own sack-fumble, and added a 22-yard TD run in Bishop’s 23-21 first-round win over Brawley. The powerful senior DL has continued to raise his stock this year by playing violent and physical at the LOS while showing significant growth both physically/athletically and in his technique. Boynton has totaled over 100 tackles and 30+ TFLs from his DT position this season. #7-Bishop’s will face #2-Rancho Bernardo in the quarterfinals this Friday.
Highlights
Josiel Rodriguez
Josiel Rodriguez
Rodriguez totaled 11 tackles, blocked a FG, blocked a punt for a TD, and recorded a sack-fumble in Central’s 14-13 first-round win over Eastlake. He was a reliable tackler in space from his OLB spot and exploded into the backfield for his two highly impactful special-teams plays. Rodriguez has quietly put himself on the stock-riser radar with a strong senior season. #6-Central will face #3-La Jolla in the D-II quarterfinals this Friday.
Leo Sahd
Leo Sahd
Sahd caught a TD from his TE spot and recorded two INTs at OLB. He made a nice read on the QB in the shallow flat for his first and showed athleticism in space extending for his second INT. Sahd- only a sophomore- should look to build off this performance as Point Loma looks to continue their playoff run. #5-Point Loma will face #4-Scripps Ranch in the quarterfinals this Friday.
