Dakota is a player who could play either offensive or defensive lineman in college, but I really like his upside on defense. Dakota also dealt with a shortened season (6 games), but had several flashes of his potential when he was on the field with 18 tackles, 6 TFLs, and a sack, while mostly playing defensive tackle. He plays with a violent, physical mindset is has an excellent motor from snap to whistle. Coon is deceivingly quick off the ball and is a fast draw with his hand and making impactful contact. He does have experience at defensive end too, where I think he could really do a lot of damage. Coon holds offers from Peru State, Culver-Stockton, Concordia, Doane, Hastings College, Northwestern College, and Avila University, however, I think he is still being somewhat overlooked on the recruiting trail.

A player who surprisingly still doesn’t hold an offer, Omaha North’s MyKel Johnson MyKel Johnson 6’0″ | 165 lbs | DB Omaha North | 2024 State NE is one of the top un-offered defensive backs remaining in the 2024 cycle. For being a cornerback, MyKel does not shy away from being physical and stepping up to make a tackle, ending the year with 48 total stops, 2 TFLs, 4 PBUs, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery. MyKel has the size and length you like to see in DBs at 6’1″ and 175 pounds. He displays nice fluidity in coverage with quick hips and a fast break on the ball. MyKel is smart with his hands and is quick to get them up to break up passes or try to make a play on the ball. One thing that stood out was his willingness to fight off outside blocks in order to step up and make a play on a RB bouncing his to the outside, displaying great technique throughout. Solid prospect coming from a proven program… jump on this guy ASAP!

Injuries shortened senior LB/EDGE Trent Moudry Trent Moudry 6’2″ | 205 lbs | LB Bishop Neumann | 2024 State NE ‘s season down to six games, nonetheless, he still managed to end the year fourth on the team in tackles. The Bishop Neumann EDGE defender finished his senior season with 45 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, and 2 sacks while also being a key blocker on the offensive line. Moudry is a menacing presence off the edge at 6’2″ and 205 pounds with a solid get-off at the snap. He does a good job shutting down his side of the defense to outside runs, using his strength and active hands to disengage from blocks and stay in pursuit of the ball-carrier. Trent’s wrestling background gives him a good understanding of leverage which he uses to overpower defenders at the line of scrimmage. Moudry holds a solid pair of offers from Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State with the potential to earn more once he gets on more radars. Don’t sleep on this guy!
Bellevue West’s Chris Lawson Chris Lawson 6’4″ | 290 lbs | DL Bellevue West | 2024 State NE is a deep sleeper who could be an asset on a collegiate defensive line. The stat sheet may not speak entirely to Chris’ effectiveness as he ended the year with 18 tackles, 4 TFLs, a sack, and a fumble recovery (7 games). At 6’3″ and 290 pounds, Chris is a handful and does a great job stuffing up inside running lanes. Chris is a very strong player who can press offensive linemen off of him when he gets going. His ability to take up space and eat up blockers opens up lanes for his linebackers to step up and make plays. Lawson is still waiting on his first offer. Keep an eye on this guy!
