As has seemed to be the case in the north half of Mississippi in the largest classification for years, Region 2 dominated last week. Even Region 1, 1 seed, Oxford was put to the test by Germantown on the Chargers home turf. With all that said, two tremendous matchups are on deck for round 2 highlighted by a rematch of the "Little Egg Bowl" as Starkville will travel to Oxford.

Region 4-7A saw their collective season come to a close in week one of the playoffs as Region 3-7A completely dominated, which was highlighted by Meridian's upset road win over then #2 ranked Ocean Springs. [player_tooltip player_id='139635' first='Daniel' last='Hill'] dominated with nearly 200 combined yards of offense as the Wildcats had a big 4th quarter and pulled off the upset. In other big news, Oak Grove looked every bit the part that was expected of them in the pre-season and continues to be atop the favorites in the south part of the state.
