No. 5 Valley rolled to a lopsided win over No. 12 Manzano, ending the game with a 1-yard TD run by Charles Lopez-Burton Charles Lopez-Burton 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Valley | 2024 State NM on the final play of the third quarter. Valley now heads to Farmington for a quarterfinals matchup against No. 4 Piedra Vista next weekend. Valley built a 43-0 halftime lead over the Monarchs, scoring 23 point in the first 9:36 of the game and cruising home from there. Vikings RB Tazhe Wilson Tazhe Wilson 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Valley | 2024 State NM got the scoring fest started with a 27-yard TD run less than two minutes into the game. After an interception, Valley QB Julian Butkivich Julian Butkivich QB Valley | 2025 AZ tossed a 39-yard TD pass to speedy WR Daniel Garcia 1:27 later. Lopez-Burton, who also plays defense, made it 23-0 late in the first quarter with a 40-yard Pick-6 interception. Wilson scored his second rushing TD of the first half with a 7-yard run to make it 30-0 with 7:37 left in the second quarter. Less than four minutes later, Wilson had a 19-yard TD run to give Valley a 37-0 lead. Natavious Stallworth closed out the first half scoring for Valley with another Pick-6 interception with 2:28 left.
