Red Bank Catholic (8-1) is on an 8 game winning streak heading into the weekend to face off against a talented Holy Spirit (8-1). Holy Spirit has 3 shutouts on the season, and will look to continue their success and pull an upset this weekend.
On the other end of the bracket is DePaul (5-5) squaring off with St. Thomas Aquinas (9-0). While St. Thomas Aquinas enters the game undefeated and with 5 shutouts this year, they are going up against arguably the most talented 5-5 team in the state. Both matchups are sure to thrill and possibly surprise, and here some of the players that may make the biggest impact for each team.
Junior Frankie Williams Frankie Williams 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Red Bank Catholic | 2025 State NJ has been everything Red Bank Catholic would hope for in a starting quarterback. Playing with precision and an impressive pocket presence, Frankie has done an incredible job maneuvering around the pocket while he simultaneously keeps his eyes down field.Ā What makes Frankie so deadly is not only his patience in the pocket, but also his ability to throw the ball from an orthodox position. Frankie doesnāt need his feet set in a traditional position to be accurate and have power behind the ball. Tossing for 1352 yards and 14 touchdowns, Frankie has been extremely efficient as a passer.
As a runner, Frankie has ran for 391 yards and 3 touchdowns as well. He can take off with it when under duress and lower his shoulder on defenders. With visits to Penn State, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and many others, Frankieās name will be heard for many years to come.
Emir Hicks Emir Hicks 165 lbs | RB Holy Spirit | 2026 State NJ is an electric runner with the ball in his hands. The sophomore running back for Holy Spirit has big play capabilities, and is always one broken tackle away from taking it to the house. Emir has put up big stats as a sophomore, rushing for 735 yards and 7 touchdowns so far this season. Emir needs to continue be given opportunities because he is only going up from here.
DePaul gained one of the best backs in the state this offseason. A transfer from Don Bosco,Ā Junior running back Nolan James Nolan James 5’11” | 185 lbs | RB DePaul Catholic | 2025 State NJ is one of the most fluid runners in the NJ 2025 class. With over 1200 offensive yards and 8 touchdowns, Nolan makes running downfield and forcing missed tackles look effortless. He has some of the best balance and body awareness I have seen, and his footwork is next level. Nolan runs low to the ground and make sharp cuts extremely quickly. Nolan is garnering D1 interest, which is sure to be his next step after his senior year at DePaul.
St. Thomas Aquinas has an elite QB in Roman Blanks Roman Blanks 6’2″ | 200 lbs | LB Keyport | 2025 NJ . Throwing for 1095 yards and 13 touchdowns, Roman can really let the ball rip with the arm strength he has, finding receivers along the sideline for over the shoulder catch.es Roman has been a smart decision maker all season long, only throwing 1 interception through 9 games. This can be attributed to his ability to look off defenders, as well as his āthrow on the runā accuracy. Big things are coming Romanās way if he continues playing as he has.
