Other notes: No. 14 Peabody Magnet beat No. 19 Booker T. Washington (New Orleans), 42-6, to celebrate second-year coach Harry Coleman’s birthday and the program’s first playoff win since 2016. No. 17 Istrouma also won its first playoff game since 2020 under new coach Sid Edwards, a longtime Louisiana coaching legend with notable recent stops at Central (Baton Rouge), Jesuit and Redemptorist. No. 8 St. Michael the Archangel, after enjoying a first-round bye, will now look for its first-ever playoff victory with a home game against No. 9 Livingston Collegiate.
