Other notes: The first round of the Division-I Select bracket, during which all but one game were decided by 20 or more points, set up three district rematches in the next round. No. 8 Acadiana and No. 9 Carencro will meet for the fourth time in two seasons, with the Wreckin’ Rams have claimed both regular-season matchups but the Bears taking last year’s second-round game. No. 3 John Curtis will face No. 22 St. Augustine — against whom the Patriots have won each regular-season meeting since a 2014 loss — for a second time in the same season for the first time since moving up to Class 5A. And No. 1 Holy Cross will face No. 16 Jesuit for the second time in four weeks after shutting out the Blue Jays, 30-0, for its first win in the series since 2017.
Intriguing second-round matchup: No. 8 Acadiana vs. No. 9 Carencro.
Most intriguing possible quarterfinal matchup: No. 3 Catholic (Baton Rouge) vs. No. 6 John Curtis.
