The Rustburg Red Devils traveled to the Liberty Christian Bulldogs (LCA) in a rematch of Seminole District foes. LCA came out with a 45-13 victory with their Special Teams forcing two fumbles which became the turning point early in the 2nd Quarter. Rustburg’s season ends with an 8-5 overall record. LCA improves to 12-0 and will play the winner of Turner Ashby (10-1) and Spotswood (10-1) who play tonight at 7:30pm. That game will take place on November 25 and will be the Region Finals. In this article, I will cover some of the players who stood out to me while attending the game.

Marquavion Rosser
Marquavion Rosser
Marquavion played his heart out in the game, pounding the rock every drive. He finished the season named First-Team All-Seminole District, and his play yesterday showed why. He scored both of Rustburg’s scores yesterday with a pair of rushing TDs. He has good Competitive Toughness as a runner, following his blocks, and taking what the defense allows, with good burst through the hole once it opens up. He does not shy from contact and has good Strength and Balance as a runner running through any arm tackle and will generally need multiple defenders to take him down. He has a very good stiff arm and displays good Agility to weave through traffic and solid speed in the open field. He has received an offer from UVA Wise but more teams ought to take a look at Marquavion’s film.

Dalton’s final stat line was 3 receptions for 3 TDs and 104 yards. Can’t get much better than that. Watching his film, you will see that Dalton knows how to use his size to box out receivers and high-point the ball in contested catches. He also runs with good Strength after the catch and can break tackles to gain extra yards.
Justis Belford
Justis Belford
Justis made some key plays in the game. He had a special teams fumble recovery, 2 tackles, and took the opening kickoff of the game for 45 yards, setting up a Gideon Davidsondee Gideon Davidsondee 5’11” | 185 lbs | RB Liberty Christian Academy | 2025 VA rushing TD a few plays later. Making plays at critical moments is key to winning, and his opening kickoff return set the tone for LCA the entire game.
Jeb is the starting QB for LCA and did connect with Dalton Nesselrotte Dalton Nesselrotte 6’2″ | WR Liberty Christian Academy | 2025 VA on two of his receiving TDs, but that is not where his biggest mark in the game was. The ensuing kickoff after Rustburg’s first score, Jeb received the ball and took it all the way to the house giving LCA a 21-7 lead. He’s a junior and returns with LCA’s other key offensive pieces.
Highlights
Not much else needs to be said about the Clemson commit’s ability to run the ball. He finished the game with 19 Carries for 128 yards and 2 TDs. What impressed me watching this game was his ability to affect all three phases of the game. He was making key tackles on Special Teams and blocked a PAT on Rustburg’s second TD, and you heard his name called on defense several times. He is an all-around football player, and he is back for one more year at LCA next year. Expect him to continue to be the leader of LCA’s offense as they push through the playoffs.
