Creekside at Jefferson
The 11-1 Creekside Seminoles haven’t lost a game to a peach-state team all season long. After a tough loss to California powerhouse Mater Dei, Creekside has won 10 straight games and has done so in impressive fashion. A complete team in all phases, Creekside is one of the best teams around Atlanta and is hoping to prove that they are the very best across the state in 5A. They are loaded with talent with an outstanding defense to match with their high-powered offense. They’ve won 10 games by double-digits and are coming off an impressive 21-point win over solid Warner Robins team. Defensively, they’ve only allowed 20+ points four times this season. They’re playing great football, and they’ll need to keep it up against a Jefferson team on a mission.
The Dragons are 13-0 this year, and a big reason why has been the play of 5-star athlete, Sammy Brown Sammy Brown 6'2" | 225 lbs | ATH Jefferson | 2024 State GA . An elite athlete and one of the very best prospects across the country, Brown is a game-changing two-way player who dominated at both running back and linebacker. They’ve won 11 of their 13 games by double digits and have only one goal in mind right now. Winning a state title. Defensively, they’ve only given up 20+ points three times this season while scoring 34 points in 11 of their 13 games. They’re playing tough, sound football right now, and they’ll have a home crowd advantage against an outstanding Creekside team on Friday night.
Cartersville at Coffee
The Cartersville Purply Hurricanes are right where they feel comfortable. One win away from playing for a state championship. This is a program that knows how to win, and they’ve done it a lot again this year, carrying a 13-0 record into their big semi-final game against Coffee. Cartersville has won games in a lot of different ways this season. They’ve won some tough, close wins, an they’ve shown the ability to blow teams out. They’re well-coached, and they fight all game long. They’ve won their last four games by at least 19 points, so you can make the case they’re playing their best football of the season. This program isn’t slowing down, and if they play their best Friday night, they’ll have an opportunity to bring home another state championship to their loyal fanbase and community.
The Coffee Trojans are one of the best small-town teams left in the playoffs across all classifications. The Trojans won some close games early, but they’ve won their last 10 games by least 21 points. They do their job and have played great football all season long in all three phases of the game. Defensively, they have dominated all season long, shutting out six opponents so far this season, along with two shutouts in their last three games. Only three teams have scored at least 10 points on the tremendous Coffee defense this season. Offensively, they’ve scored at least 30 points in nine games. They’re at a strong 13-0, and they’ve played like champions should. They fight, battle, and play tough, physical football, averaging over 260 rushing yards a game, thanks to senior Fred Brown who has over 2,000 yards on the season already with 21 touchdowns.
