Over the years, the two schools have developed a mostly one-sided rivalry. The Cavaliers have won 15 of the 18 meetings since 2010.
While Christ Church reached the state championship a sixth time last season, St. Joseph’s is seeking to reach the final for the first time.
Once again, it’s the Cavaliers who stand in the way of that achievement. The winner gets either Bamberg-Ehrhardt or Johnsonville in the Class A final Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg.
Here’s a preview:
No. 3 St. Joseph’s (11-2) at No. 1 Christ Church (11-2)
It’s the second straight year the two Greenville rivals will meet in the Upper State final. The two teams also met this season on Sept. 22, with the Cavaliers victorious in both games.
Christ Church leads the all-time series 15-3.
