Here is a look at four key games and four prospects.
Basehor-Linwood (6-3) @ Louisburg (9-0) – Louisburg, the No. 2 seed in the eastern bracket will look to avoid an upset against the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats. This game will be a real test of wills and all about who has the most success running the ball. The winner of this game will meet the winner of St. Thomas Aquinas (6-3) and Bishop Miege (8-1)
Sam Boetcher, RB, 5’10”, 180, Basehor-Linwood, ‘24
Boetcher is a solid back with a quality combination of size and speed. He has been carrying a heavy load for a Bobcat team that has been dealing with injuries all season. He has rushed for 879 yards and 14 touchdowns in nine games. His recruitment is wide open and he is hoping that his strong season will end up creating offers from college programs.
Eudora (5-4) at Atchison (9-0) – Everyone wants to know how good is Atchison. The Phoenix are undefeated but to put it mildly, the Atchison schedule is by far from being the toughest in Class 4A. The winner of this game will square off in the sectional round with the winner between Chanute (8-1) and Tonganoxie (7-2). The Blue Comets’ one loss came against the Chieftains earlier in the season.
Miles Greenly, LB, 6’0”, 210, Atchison, ‘25
The leading tackler for the Phoenix is junior linebacker, Greenly, He is a tough-nosed player who has racked up 80 total tackles. His speed allows him to wreak havoc on the backfield as 18 of his tackles are for lost yardage.
Field Kindley (6-3) @ Wellington (7-2) – Wellington is the No. 4 seed in the western part of the bracket. Coffeyville-Field Kindley, the No. 5 seed will look to use its run game to knock off Wellington. The winner of this regional match-up will face the winner of No. 1 -1-seeded Wamego and No. 9-seeded Rose Hill in the next round.
Aaron Tunstall Aaron Tunstall 5'8" | 170 lbs | ATH Field Kindley | 2025 State KS , RB, 5’8”, 160, Field Kindley, ‘25
The Golden Tornado offense is energized by a junior running back. Tunstall has rushed for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns in nine games. He can sneak through a hole faster than a sugared-up mouse. Tunstall also has the ability to run over defenders.
McPherson (6-3) at Buhler (7-2) – Buhler is the No. 2 seed out west and faces No. 7 McPherson in the regional round. This should be a really tight game. The winner will face the team that scores the most points between Abilene (7-2) and Andover Central (6-3).

Buhler has a young running back leading the Crusader offense. Clouse has rushed for 800-plus yards and scored 17 touchdowns.
