McDaniel can play either outside receiver or tight end, and provides nice offensive position versatility with length, vertical speed and a huge catch radius. Only a second year prep player, he has shown that he can compete against top tier varsity competition, get off press coverage and can run a variety of different routes downfield, while tough to bring down due to his strong ball carrying abilities and contact balance. As he continues to grow and develop, it will be interesting to see how high his ceiling can be as he has elite length and range for the position with the frame to be able to pack on more weight and could end up turning into a premier tight end at the next level.
Highlights
Hillman is a elite passer in this 2026 class, and was a All-State kid in 2022, and his 2023 season has been on that same track. He is a well put together kid, especially for his age, and is mobile in the pocket with a strong presence, escapability, and knows how to keep his eyes downfield and deliver a nice deep ball. Underneath, he can fit it into tight windows, has a quick release and is seemingly accurate on both in-breaking and outbreaking routes. He is a still developing passer, but processes quickly for his age and is a playmaker in the open field with the ball in his hands. He should be one of the more productive passers across Idaho over the next few seasons for Lakeland.
