Risers:
Amrine’s junior season got cut short due to health reasons but played well in the seven games he was able to see the field. He’s a good pocket passer with natural instincts and awareness but also has plus playmaking ability on breakdowns. Quiet with his footwork in the pocket, he gets into his drop quickly landing with a balanced platform to stand and deliver a good ball at all three levels. Really like his touch and trajectory on the ball, understands how to mix up his velocities to throw a catchable ball. Can zip a one ball into a tight window at the short/intermediate level or throw a touch pass over the top of the defense. Does a good job avoiding the rush and buying time when pressured. He can roll out and throw accurately to either direction or tuck it and run using his athleticism to move the chains. Not the biggest QB at 5’10” 185 lbs. but has proven he can play at a high level early in his career.
Newcomers:
Ideal size, length, and frame at 6’6” 220 lbs. He’s got a strong arm with a over the top release that allows him to get the ball out quick and on time. Stays balanced throughout his throwing motion and his arm strength allows him to push the ball vertically or throw to the boundary with ease. Really good ability to throw his receivers open and hit his spots at all three levels. Smooth footwork in the pocket, he’s fluid in his drop back and never looks rushed or uncomfortable under pressure. High football IQ, he shows a good ability to read the defense while going through his progression with his eyes to make smart decisions with the football. His natural tools and ability in combination with his upside and potential make him a quality college prospect as he continues to develop.
James had to wait his turn behind senior QB Jake Kennedy Jake Kennedy 6’1″ | 175 lbs | ATH Skyview | 2024 WA during the 2023 season but has shown good potential when he has had the opportunity and during off season camps/showcases. He throws a good ball with a quick release. Like his timing and anticipation to throw his receivers open and hit them in stride allowing them to run after the catch. He’s a plus athlete with good pocket mobility and awareness to feel/escape pressure. Shows he can throw from different arm angles to deliver an accurate and catchable ball at all three levels. With leading Skyview receiver Gavin Packer Gavin Packer 5’10” | 175 lbs | WR Skyview | 2025 State WA coming back next season we expect these two to be explosive and put up big numbers as seniors.
