The fifth-seed Lutheran Lions defeated the top-seeded Green Mountain Rams 27-21 in a nail-biter that went down to the wire. One thing about the game that was evident from the very beginning was the vast number of prospects with collegiate potential on the field from both teams.
Below is a list of 14 of the game’s many standout players and a look at the notes taken during the rewatch.
Jake Wesolowski | Lutheran | 2025 WR
This kid is a legit sleeper. A deep threat who can really stretch the field. He has a big frame, powerful strides, and outstanding catching abilities. An athletic route-runner who creates separation and can win in one-on-one situations.
Ryken Daugaard Ryken Daugaard 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Lutheran | 2024 State CO | Lutheran | 2024 QB
Experienced QB with a strong arm. He does a good job of not having stagnant feet while in the pocket and steps into his throws. A 6’2” gunslinger with potential.
Cole Johnson | Lutheran | 2024 RB/DB
An explosive athlete who flies around the field. He’s a big standout on defense who flies around the field making plays. Physical player who’s willing to hit and can finish tackles in space. A two-way player with excellent instincts.
Colin Sturm Colin Sturm 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Lutheran | 2024 State CO | Lutheran | 2024 OL/DL
Sturm is an athlete. He’s strong, agile, and has excellent technique with good explosiveness and quick feet. He has excellent stamina for an up-tempo offense. A talented player with a high ceiling.
Peyton Garrett | Lutheran | 2024 DE
This kid is definitely worth a closer look. He has good gap-awareness and strength. He does a great job at locking out and not rushing too far upfield. An impressive player with obvious potential.
Keaton Reiman Keaton Reiman OL Lutheran | 2024 State CO | Lutheran | 2024 OL
An impressive lineman on both sides of the ball. Has formidable strength and impressive athleticism. He’s explosive off the line and has a solid base that makes him tough to move.
Alex Zakhem | Lutheran | 2025 OT
Big! He is listed as 6’8”, 265 lbs. Gets out of his stance quickly while maintaining good pad height. He is nimble, has good feet, and quick hands.
Blake Weslin | Green Mountain | 2024 QB/MLB
An outstanding athlete who checks a lot of boxes. He’s a big kid–listed at 6’3, 200 lbs–who should be a legitimate recruit for both sides of the ball. He has a strong arm with good accuracy, and he’s a real dude on defense. A big-time steal.
Austin Contreras | Green Mountain | 2024 OLB
A very talented LB and a true difference-maker for the team. Brings a lot of speed and strength to the box. A versatile OLB who can apply pressure in the backfield, stuff the run in the box, and cover in space.
Nowell Dacres | Green Mountain | 2024 CB/RB
An under-the-radar corner with a high ceiling. Has fluid movements and does an excellent job of playing through the hands of the WR and breaking up passes. A two-way player who could contribute on special teams.
George Soppe | Green Mountain | 2024 RB/OLB
Another potential sleeper. A well-rounded two-way standout with leadership characteristics. He’s a legitimate difference-maker on both sides of the ball. He runs hard and plays physical, initiating contact as a RB and LB. Will add strength to a college roster.
Austin Beeson | Green Mountain | 2024 WR/ATH
An outstanding athlete with playmaking abilities. An explosive route-runner with shifty breaks, breakaway speed, and reliable hands. He’s a dangerous return man on special teams. A next-level talent for sure.
Max Choboian | Green Mountain | 2024 WR/DB
Talented athlete with a ton of potential. He’s a two-way player who brings a lot of speed and physicality to the field. A plug-and-play athlete who shows up on film in all phases of the game. He’s worth a closer look.
Andrias Guillory | Green Mountain | 2025 OL
His size asses the eye test, listed at 6’3”, 235 lbs. He’s quick out of his stance and shows good athleticism when pulling. Has impressive strength and power. He should be high on a lot of recruiting boards.
