The Wildcats have won their first four district games all by 42+ points. Canadian looks ready to make a deep run in the Class 3A playoffs. . .Bushland won the District 3A-2 title with a lopsided victory over Dalhart. Bushland completed the regular season with a 9-1 record and a 4-0 district mark. The Falcons have a bye in Week 11. If Shallowater beats River Road in Week 11, the four playoff teams from that district will be Bushland, Dalhart, Shallowater and Muleshoe. . .The last two playoffs spots in District 5A-2 are up for grabs with Amarillo, Tascosa, Monterey and Coronado in the battle. Amarillo, which lost to district leader Abilene in Week 10, clinches a playoff spot with a victory over Lubbock Monterey. If that happens, Tascosa would clinch a playoff spot with a road win over Lubbock Coronado. Tascosa is coming off a loss to Lubbock-Cooper that dropped the Rebels to 3-6 overall. . .In District 4A-3, the four playoff teams appear set (Randall, Canyon, Dumas and Hereford) unless Pampa finds a way to upset Canyon (7-2) at home. District leader Randall concluded its regular season with a 27-20 victory over Hereford in which Raiders QB Tryston Sanchez threw for 127 yards and ran for 133 more. . .In District 4A-2, West Plains is a road victory over Borger away from claiming the district championship. The Perryton-Seminole winner will finish in 2nd place. . .In Class 2A, Stratford just needs to beat West Texas to claim the undisputed District 2A-1 title. The winner of Friday's Panhandle-Farwell game will finish in second place with the loser claiming third.

Look Ahead (Week 11)

Game of the Week: Panhandle (8-1) at Farwell (7-2)

Canyon at Pampa

Tascosa at Lubbock Coronado

Lubbock Monterey at Amarillo

Childress at Friona

Plainview at Palo Duro

Muleshoe at Dalhart

Perryton at Seminole

West Plains at Borger

Dumas at Hereford

Photo: MaxPreps

SOUTH PLAINS

Key Week 10 Scores

Frenship 77, Odessa 49

Lubbock-Cooper 45, Tascosa 27

Estacado 33, Big Spring 13

Lubbock Monterey 14, Lubbock Coronado 7

Abilene Cooper 61, Lubbock 7

Coahoma 41, Lubbock Roosevelt 22

Denver City 47, Lamesa 6

Shallowater 27, Muleshoe 19

Seminole 45, Levelland 19

Abernathy 41, Stanton 0

Idalou 39, Littlefield 26

What's Going On: Facing a must-win situation, Frenship light up the scoreboard in a 77-49 victory over Odessa in Week 10. Tigers QB Hudson Hutcheson completed 27-of-30 passes for 377 yards and 4 TD to spark the high-flying Frenship offense. Frenship also rushed for 302 yards and amassed 679 yards in total offense. WR [player_tooltip player_id='1420687' first='Leyton' last='Stone'] had 9 receptions for 170 yards and 2 TD. Frenship (7-2, 2-2) is now tied for third in the district standings with Odessa and Odessa Permian. The good news for Frenship is they face district cellar dweller San Angelo Central in Week 11. Win that one and the Tigers should be in the playoffs. . .In Class 5A, Lubbock-Cooper beat Tascosa and appears safe in their quest for a playoff spot from District 5A-2. The Pirates are second in the district standings behind Abilene. But Lubbock Monterey and Lubbock Coronado need wins in Week 11 to enhance their chances of making the post-season. . .In District 4A-2, Lubbock Estacado just has to avoid getting upset by Lake View to finish in second place behind Brownwood in the district. James Bozeman rushed for 166 yards in Estacado's win over Big Spring last week. . .Seminole and Perryton lock horns in Week 11 with the winner guaranteed of finishing no worse than second place in the district behind likely winner West Plains. QB Wyatt Holmstrom completed 29-of-40 passes for 283 yards in Seminole's win over Levelland last weekend. WR Caton Cramer had 11 receptions for 122 yards. . .In District 3A-2, Muleshoe and Shallowater look safe unless woeful River Road upsets Shallowater on the road. Shallowater beat Muleshoe in Week 10 as Kouper Boyd rushed for 183 yards. . .Idalou clinched the District 3A-4 title with the 39-26 win over Littlefield. Behind Idalou, there's a logjam of four teams tied at 2-2, including Abernathy, Lubbock Roosevelt, Littlefield and Coahoma. One of those teams is not going to make the playoffs. Those four teams face off in two huge games in Week 11.

Look Ahead (Week 11)

Game of the Week: Muleshoe (7-2) at Dalhart (7-2)

Littlefield at Lubbock Roosevelt

Coahoma at Abernathy

Frenship at San Angelo Central

Lubbock Monterey at Amarillo

Tascosa at Lubbock Coronado

Perryton at Seminole

New Home at Ropes

Caprock at Lubbock-Cooper

Plainview at Palo Duro

PERMIAN BASIN

Key Week 10 Scores

Midland Legacy 49, Midland 31

Frenship 77, Odessa 49

Odessa Permian 42, San Angelo Central 14

Fort Stockton 28, Pecos 7

Brownwood 28, Andrews 14

Monahans 69, El Paso Mountain View 13

Alpine 43, Tornillo 0

McCamey 36, Water Valley 30

Iraan 27, Eldorado 20

What's Going On: After amassing over 600 yards of offense in a wild win over crosstown rival Midland, Midland Legacy controls its own destiny in District 6A-2. In order to wrapup the district title on their own, Legacy must beat Odessa in Week 11. Legacy QB Marcos Davila threw for 392 yards and 3 TD while the ground game churned out 217 yards led by Tommy Johnson's 111 yards on 18 carries. . .Midland, meanwhile, suffered its first loss of the year and looks to wrap up a playoff berth with a victory over Odessa Permian at Astound Broadband Stadium. Midland was “held” to 245 rushing yards in the loss to Legacy. Frenship, Odessa and Odessa Permian are all tied at 2-2 in the district. Very likely, at least one of those teams won't make the playoffs. There is a scenario where we could have a five-way tie for first. At that point, complex tiebreakers would have to be utilized to unravel the pile. . .In District 4A-1, unbeaten Monahans aims for the undisputed district title against Clint on the road. Fort Stockton also appears to be in good shape as they host Fabens (0-4 in district). Pecos, Clint and Mountain View are battling for the two final spots. . .In District 4A-2, Andrews and Big Springs get into the playoffs if Lake View loses to Estacado, which is likely. . .Wink (9-1) has won District 2A-5.

Look Ahead (Week 11)

Game of the Week: Odessa Permian (5-4) at Midland (8-1)

Midland Legacy at Odessa

Monahans at Clint

El Paso Mountain View at Pecos

Big Spring at Andrews

Fabens at Fort Stockton

Kermit at Denver City

Alpine at Crane

Iraan at McCamey

Photo: MaxPreps

https://twitter.com/StromanBridges/status/1718261216462733611?s=20

FAR WEST TEXAS

Key Week 10 Scores

Eastwood 38, Franklin 31

Pebble Hills 31, Eastlake 21

Montwood 41, El Dorado 21

EP Coronado 52, Socorro 7

Del Valle 27, Ysleta 16

Parkland 38, Hanks 34

Chapin 66, El Paso 7

Andress 28, Burges 24

Austin 14, Bowie 9

What's Going On: In a battle between two of the top dual threat quarterbacks in El Paso, Eastwood outlasted Franklin to claim the undisputed District 6A-1 championship. The Troopers haven't lost in district play (7-0) although four of their last five wins have come by seven points or less. In short, Eastwood is the district champion because they've won close games. Against Franklin, QB Evan Minjarez threw for 263 yards and 4 TD while rushing for 130 yards as he outdueled Frnklin QB Shay Smith. . .Behind Eastwood, Pebble Hills (8-2, 6-2) has also clinched a playoff spot as six of the nine teams in the district have 3+ losses. The Spartans concluded their regular season last week. . .Third place Montwood (5-4, 5-2) clinched a playoff berth in Week 10 with a 41-21 win over El Dorado. . .Americas controls its own destiny in the battle for the final playoff spot. The Trail Blazers have sole possession of fourth place with a 4-3 district record and face winless Socorro in Week 11, so Americas will likely be the fourth playoff team. . .Unlike District 6A-1, District 5A-1 is still up for grabs with Bel Air (8-1, 3-1) and Del Valle (8-1, 4-0) locking horns in Week 11 in what essentially serves as a winner-take-all district championship game. Both teams, though, will be in the playoffs. Behind them, three teams are battling for the final two playoff spots – Parkland, Ysleta and Hanks. Parkland advances with a win over woeful Horizon, which is likely. That means the fourth spot will go to the Hanks-Ysleta winner. . .In the other 5A district, Canutillo, Chapin and Andress have secured playoff berths with Burges and El Paso battling for the final spot. Give the advantage to Burges since they play woeful Jefferson in Week 11 while El Paso must face Canutillo. . .Riverside, Austn and Bowie have clinched playoff berths in District 4A-1.

Look Ahead (Week 11)

Game of the Week: Bel Air (8-1) at Del Valle (8-1)

Ysleta at Hanks

Canutillo at El Paso

EP Coronado at Montwood

El Dorado at Franklin

El Paso Mountain View at Pecos

Eastwood at Eastlake

Riverside at Bowie

Chapin at Andress

Burges at Jefferson

Americas at Socorro

Photo: MaxPreps
