Certain teams & prospects have begun to separate themselves from the pack as we inch closer to the postseason. Today, I’m analyzing the top prospects at Vancouver College Preparatory School. This squad has some interesting names that should make a push to play on Saturdays at the collegiate level. Keep an eye on them as they continue their progression this fall and beyond.
As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!
RB: Nathan Lowden Nathan Lowden 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Vancouver College | 2025 State CAD 5’11” 170
A multitalented position player with nifty footwork, laserlike vision, body control, and explosive change of direction. He’s instinctive on the defensive side with compact breaks, a quick trigger, and good closing speed.
OL: Carter Martin Carter Martin 6'2" | 275 lbs | DL Vancouver College | 2025 State CAD 6’1″ 250
Martin shows adequate hand placement off the snap and has an able base that allows for him to create knockback on down defenders. He’s flexible, has strong hands at the point of attack, his run-blocking effort is off the charts and he plays with an edge to him. He’s also a highly productive three-technique who can add a ton of value as a pass rusher on the inside.
ATH: Lucas Gonzales, 6′ 165
Lucas can make an impact all over the field, he’s got sticky hands, the ability to adjust to poorly placed balls, and exceptional build-up speed when he gets a full head of steam. He’s a north & south runner between the tackles that can get lost behind the line before bursting through a seam. On defense, he’s always around the football and reads the quarterback’s intentions like a book.
LB: Cole Pryputsch, 6’2″ 190
An athletic outside linebacker prospect who can get after the passer and is an extremely disruptive run-stopper. He’s tough, rangy, has a natural sense for zone coverage, and is quite physical rerouting two up the seam.
OL: Vito Verdicchio Vito Verdicchio OL Vancouver College | 2024 State CAD , 6’1″ 305
Vito is extremely physical at the point of attack, he keeps his head up and will work off double teams when a defender triggers in his gap. He plays with active feet on contact, has shown some positional versatility, and his initial jab can jolt defenders out of their gap & create clear running lanes.
RB: Hudson Bromlwy, 6′ 205
Hudson runs with purpose, barreling through anyone that gets in his way. He’s got soft hands out of the backfield, he can squeak through smaller holes on the inside and has the wiggle to make tacklers miss on the third level.
