Maret is now 1-0 in the MAC and 8-0 overall, so it’s clear that they’re one of the best teams in DMV area high school football right now. Let’s take a closer look at the top performers from Maret’s win over Potomac this past Saturday.
2024 6’0 205 QB – Roman Jensen – Maret
The Player of the Game Award for this contest was named unanimously to Roman Jensen of Maret. You’d be hard pressed to find a prospect in the entire nation who played better than Jensen over the weekend. Jensen scored a jaw-dropping 5 total touchdowns, and he added 332 all-purpose yards as well. He completed 18/26 passes for 228 yards, with zero turnovers, and he also ran for more than 100 yards. Jensen’s performance might’ve just sealed the deal for his 1st Team All-MAC QB selection this year, and, in my opinion, that selection should most definitely be a unanimous one. Roman Jensen most certainly has what it takes to suit up at QB for a D1 program next Fall, and it’s imperative that scouts treat his recruitment very seriously. Jensen and the Frogs will attempt to complete the coveted perfect season tonight versus a familiar MAC foe- Flint Hill.
2026 5’10 190 RB – Isiah Williams – Maret
With elite performance after elite performance this season, Isiah Williams has really cemented himself as Maret’s RB1 of the future. He was tremendous in the passing game versus Potomac, and he successfully showcased his dynamic ability out of the backfield. Williams can clearly do it all, and his production has been of paramount importance to the Frogs’ perfect record in 2023. My prediction is that the young Sophomore ends the year on a high note with an immaculate performance versus Flint Hill. If the Maret Frogs are to go unbeaten, his dominant effort will be crucial tonight.
2026 6’0 155 WR – Joey Johnston – Maret
Joey Johnston proved himself as an elite deep ball pass catcher in this contest, and he demonstrated phenomenal speed along the way. Johnston connected with his quarterback, Roman Jensen, on multiple occasions in the long pass game, and each time he racked-up a bunch of yards after contact. His quickness and elusiveness both make him very difficult to bring down, and, in an extremely competitive rivalry environment, he showed us just that against Potomac. Maret’s offense has a very bright future ahead of them with Joey Johnston on their roster.
2026 5’11 150 WR – Akim Iscandari – Potomac
Akim Iscandari did his best Devin Hester impersonation over the weekend, returning the very first kickoff of the day nearly the entire length of the field to the end zone for the touchdown. In the second half, Iscandari demonstrated his elite receiver skills with a spectacular touchdown grab in the RedZone, bringing his total to two on the day. Akim Iscandari clearly played an incredible game against Maret, and he deserves a ton of credit for producing for his team no matter the score deficit. Scouts must recognize Iscandari as one of the top receivers in the MAC’s 2026 class.
2025 6’2 185 QB – Camren Boykin Camren Boykin 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Potomac School | 2025 MD – Potomac
Camren Boykin Camren Boykin 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Potomac School | 2025 MD really came to life in the final quarter of this football game, and he managed to finish the game on a strong note with multiple touchdown scores. He scored his first touchdown on a highlight-reel run through the jaws of the Potomac defense. For his second, he connected with his primary pass catcher Akim Iscandari for the RedZone score. Camren Boykin Camren Boykin 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Potomac School | 2025 MD salvaged his overall performance with late game heroics, and he also showed flashes of greatness throughout the contest. Boykin and the Panthers will attempt to secure their second win of the season tomorrow versus St. James.
