Southern Indiana 2024 WRs Making Statements This Season

This article mentions eight senior wideouts from Southern Indiana who have crushed it this season. Most of the recruits continue to go unnoticed and stay under the radar. These guys have the intangibles to play at the next level and make a difference. AJ finished the regular season with 41 receptions, 879 yards, averaging 97.7 per game, 10 receiving TDs, and 4 games with 100+ yards. I wrote about AJ before the season started and said he would be a breakout player for the Braves. He finished 1st in receiving in the conference, 2nd in Class 5A, and 8th in the state. AJ surpassed his stats compared to last season by a mile. This young man has shown tremendous improvement in just one season, which is not going unnoticed. He has improved his catching and his ability to catch in traffic. There is a difference in his speed and acceleration. Owen finished the regular season with 48 receptions, 775 yards, averaging 86.1 per game, 10 receiving TDs, and 2 games with 100+ yards. This young man is a great slot receiver and gets the job done with his legs. Most of his highlights contain a route between the sticks that turns into 20+ yard gains. He is a possession-first receiver focused on the catch and then makes a play second. Owen shows on film to make defenders miss and bounce off defenders like it is nothing. I like his athleticism and consistently trying to pick up that extra yard. Jack finished the regular season with 44 receptions, 734 yards, averaging 81.6 per game, 11 receiving TDs, and 2 games with 100+ yards. Mr. Pennington plays with one of the best QBs in the state, and they are a great duo. Jack does a great job getting in and out of breaks. He has good size and is a tremendous jump-ball receiver. Creating space and separating from defenders is the name of his game. Kyle's stats through eight games had 38 receptions, 675 yards, averaging 84.4 per game, 9 receiving TDs, and 3 games with 100+ yards. That is right, Seymour has two stud senior wideouts. Kyle has a great catch radius and does a great job adjusting to the ball. He does an excellent job getting yards after the catch and turning on the jets. Kyle is another receiver who is tough to bring down on the first hit. I love how he fights for every yard and makes the tough catches look easy. Kyle Hileman has the intangibles to be a great receiver at the next level. Roland finished the regular season with 49 receptions, 649 yards, averaging 72.1 per game, 5 receiving TDs, and 2 games with 100+ yards. He started carrying the ball more often late in the season and finished the regular season with 408 yards and 9 TDs on the ground. One word to describe Roland is electric. Get the ball in this young man's hands, and magic will happen. His speed is unmatched by his opponents and is an offensive weapon for Reitz. When he gets the ball, there is a good chance Roland is taking it to the house. The reason why they use him all over the field is because he is a playmaker. D'Andre finished the regular season with 34 receptions, 645 yards, averaging 71.7 per game, 10 receiving TDs, and 2 games with 100+ yards. I am unsure why this young man is under the radar because he has some serious talent. First, his speed is noticeable on film, showing him to outrun his opponents numerous times. A five-yard slant route turns into a 20+ yard gain from his speed and ability to make defenders miss. He shows up on special teams, making plays and blocking punts off the edge. The way he carries the ball with a purpose and how hard he runs impresses me. He plays with incredible balance and fights defenders off with a great stiff arm. Langdon looks like the energizer bunny out there. This young man can impact a team at the next level and try to outwork everyone. Mr. Summers was another wideout I mentioned before the season started, and I predicted he would have a great season. He met those expectations and showed improvement in his game. Hayden is another speedy wideout that turns short routes into significant gains. The way he can keep his balance while making catches out of his reach while going full speed is awe-inspiring. This young man is a great playmaker for the Panthers and will be for a college team in the future.
