Here were the handful of players to announce college decisions: four commitments and one decommitment.
Dominick McKinley Dominick McKinley 6'5" | 275 lbs | DL Acadiana | 2024 State LA | 6-7, 270 DL | Acadiana (2024) —> Texas A&M
Louisiana’s top-ranked prospect was the last player to share a commitment before kicking of his senior season, declaring his pledge to the Aggies just hours before his Wreckin’ Rams’ opener. Texas A&M somewhat quietly surged past Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, LSU and others in the final weeks of the summer, but is expected to have to continuing battling those programs all the way to the early signing period to hold onto McKinley.
Kylin Smith Kylin Smith 5'9" | 150 lbs | DB West St. John | 2024 State LA | 5-9, 150 DB/ATH | West St. John (2024) —> Graceland
A pair of underrated prospects on the outskirts of New Orleans announced commitments during Week 3, with NAIA getting an absolute steal in the speedy, potential Division-I talent from Edgard, La. Smith is a playmaking defensive back with quick feet and great timing to snatch takeaways, as well as a threat in the return game.
Jaedon Voison | 6-2, 240 LB/RB | Belle Chasse (2024) —> Southeastern Louisiana
A few miles of twists and turns down the Mississippi River, another talented and productive two-way senior prospect announced his decision the same day at Smith. The Cardinals’ big, bruising running back and linebacker pledged to stay in-state for his college career at Southeastern Louisiana. While Voisin’s stand-out traits center more on his strength and physicality, he has shown good speed covering ground and closing in for tackles on defense or getting churning for longer gains with the ball in his hands.
D’Khai Joseph D’Khai Joseph 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR East St. John | 2024 State LA | 5-10, 170 WR/ATH | East St. John (2024) —> reopens recruitment
Southeastern Louisiana lost another notable senior commitment the following week when the dynamic East St. John receiver decided to reopen his recruitment.
Landon Sylvie Landon Sylvie 5'10" | 150 lbs | DB Calvary Baptist | 2024 State LA | 5-10, 150 DB | Calvary Baptist (2024) —> Southeast Missouri State
The RedHawks continued their emphasis on and success with recruiting talented, underrated Louisiana prospects with the Sept. 30 addition of the Calvary Baptist ballhawk to their 2024 commitment class. Southeast Missouri State landed a pair of Louisiana signees in 2023, including top-100 safety Dezaray “D.J.” Delmore Jr., and added Sylvie as the season neared its midway mark.
