PRZNE 2024 Rankings Update: New Names to Watch

These four prospects impressed us and made their rankings debut in this round. One player to keep an eye on is linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='974037' first='Eyston' last='Behrens'] who has been a major contributor to that stifling Millard West defense. I don't have official stats, but from following the Wildcats this season, Eyston is a name consistently being mentioned after big plays. Eyston is a player who can do any of the tasks you need out of a linebacker from blitzing, to stopping the run, and dropping back in coverage. He is very aggressive when attacking downhill, displays smart gap play, and has been a constant terror for opposing backfields. Behrens does a great job using his hands to disengage from blockers at the LOS and then does a great job pursuing the ball. Villamonte caught my eye back in July at the Battle 7v7 tournament, where his accuracy and ball placement looked incredible. Even when you add pads and a real defense to the mix, Gabe continues to deliver the ball with extreme accuracy, posting a 77% completion percentage through 7 games. Gabe has completed 70 of 91 attempts for 1,113 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns to 5 Ints. When watching Gabe's tape, you see a QB who can deliver the ball to all levels of the field and does an especially good job layering his throws over the middle of the field. He displays good timing and anticipation on his throws. Another thing that stands out about Gabe's game is his mobility both in the pocket and with his ability to escape pressure and extend the play with his legs. Constantly looking downfield for an open read and can make quick decisions with the ball. Before Ogallala's week 7 game, Caden was riding a 4-game streak of over 150 total offense yards, including a 265-yard game against McCook. In total, Rezac has rushed for 868 yards, 6 rushing touchdowns, and hauled in 8 receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown. At 6'1" and 190, Caden has a solid frame which makes him very tough to bring down on first contact, and can usually outmuscle his way out of solo tackle attempts. He does a good job building his speed as he rounds the edge and then can turn on the burners to outrace the defense. One thing that I noticed is Caden's deceiving twitch, using quick cuts and great lane vision to smoothly maneuver through defenses. Zimmerman's physicality and athleticism allow for him to be moved around the defense and has seen time at free safety, cornerback, linebacker/box safety, and even lined up right on the line of scrimmage. I really liked Zimmerman's willingness to tackle and has already racked up 29 tackles, 3 TFLs, an interception, and a fumble recovery. He has no issue stepping up into the box to help in run support and knows how to shed perimeter blocks to shut down outside runs/screens. Kelby has solid range and does a great job with his tackling angles, showing the ability to make sure tackles in the open field.
