Region 3-3A is as tough as any in the classification and the number 2 seed, and a chance to host a playoff game next week, will be on the line Thursday night between East Webster and Nettleton. Expect a big offensive output in this one as the Wolverines have scored 40+ points three weeks in a row and the Tigers have averaged over 30 PPG. Nettleton 2026 QB Braylen Williams Braylen Williams 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Nettleton | 2026 State MS has been a star and is a name to watch in recruiting circles moving forward.
Madison Central (5-3) @ #10 Starkville (6-2)
For years it has felt like a battle for the division every time the Jags and Jackets get together. Both teams are competing for playoff seeding as we are down to two weeks left in the schedule. Starkville, led by Trey Petty Trey Petty 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Starkville | 2024 State MS , has had no issue moving the ball at any time this year but the defense and special teams have sputtered at times. MC is rolling after outscoring Murrah and Germantown by a combined 84-0 in the last two weeks. By the way that is a Germantown team that beat Starkville earlier this year.
Meridian (5-4) @ #5 Brandon (6-2)
Brandon opened the year with back to back losses against Picayune and Madison Central but has since turned the corner and not dropped a game, including possibly the biggest single victory in the state of Mississippi this year over Oak Grove. On the other hand Meridian, sitting right over .500, has been a bit all over the place but with a guy like Daniel Hill Daniel Hill 6'1" | 220 lbs | WR Meridian | 2024 State MS on your side you have to pay close attention.
#2 Ocean Springs (7-1) @ Gulfport (5-3)
A battle of division unbeatens down on the coast is a highlight of the Friday night slate. Both teams bring dynamic offensive units to the table. The Admirals have scored 42+ in every game since losing to Brandon back in late September. The same can be said for a Greyhound offense averaging over 37 PPG. Whoever can get a stop will be in good shape here.
#8 Picayune (6-2) @ George County (7-2)
Upset alert for Picayune in what is a defacto winner take all division championship matchup. This is without a doubt the biggest test of the division slate for both teams. The Maroon Tide has dealt with injuries fairly easily up until this point, but can they do it again against Deuce Knight Deuce Knight 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB George County | 2025 State MS and company?
