Javian Butts- John Milledge
One of the very best running backs across Middle Georgia, the explosive Milledgeville native has been outstanding so far this season as a freshman, but had a game for the ages this past weekend in a big win over Brookwood. Butts was unstoppable, breaking off big run after big run during his team’s big 49-33 win over Pinewood Christian. In total, Butts ran 30 times for an eye-opening 307 yards and three touchdowns. He showed some wiggle, burst, acceleration, and the ability to out-run just about any defender in his way. He’s a got who can break off a big run on any particular play, and he did that often on Friday night. He had a game most backs can only dream of, and it’s one he’ll remember forever. He’s as productive as it gets in the area and now rushed for an impressive 970 yards through his first six games of the season with 11 touchdowns. The 5-foot-10 205 pounder also caught one pass for a 44-yard touchdown. He’s been unstoppable this year and could be one of the state’s leading rushers in the area this fall.
Duke Watson Duke Watson 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Mary Persons | 2024 State GA – Mary Persons
Another outstanding back from Middle Georgia who has been one of the more productive backs across the state over the last few years, Watson has shown time after time that he’s a true game-changing type of back, and hee dominated once again over the weekend with arguably his best game as a Mary Persons Bulldog. The quick, agile back from Forsyth, Georgia rushed for over 300 yards and five touchdowns in a big 45-28 win over Prince Avenue Christian. At 6-foot-0 180-pounds, Watson is a current Louisville commitment who has run wild throughout his career and has continues his excellent play as a senior this fall. He’s rushed for at least 120 yards and has scored multiple touchdowns in every game so far this year, but this past weekend’s game was without a doubt his biggest. He can carry the team on his back and has consistently been one of the most productive backs in Georgia for the 2024 class. He’s currently ranked as the No. 51 prospect in the state and No. 3 RB prospect in the newest rankings update.
Jordan McCoy Jordan McCoy 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Tucker | 2024 State GA – Tucker
A strong, physical back with above average speed, McCoy has been one of the most consistent and productive backs in Dekalb County this year. After rushing for 1,167 yards yards last fall on 156 carries for an average of around 7.5 yards per carry, McCoy has been running through defenses left and right to start the 2023 season. After rushing for over 100 yards in each of his last four games, McCoy had the game of his life last weekend against Decatur, rushing 33 times for 337 yards and five touchdowns in a big 48-39 win. He showed great burst, vision, change of direction, and breakaway speed throughout the game. He’s playing better and better and has flashed easy D1-caliber potential through the first five games of the season. The 5-foot-10 185-pounder has now rushed for just over 1,000 yards already this season with an outstanding 15 touchdowns. He’s playing at a high level and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
