Loveland was a tackling machine in the near loss to Saline a couple of weeks ago. I love the way he takes on blockers, making them pay for trying to get in front of him. He takes very good angles and does a good job of making good secure tackles. Loveland has good side-to-side movement and does not hesitate when it comes to reading the play and then flying to go make a tackle. He has good burst and it helps him to run down ball carriers.
Dinato Gandara | DB/RB | Hudl
Gandara certainly has been a playmaker for Monroe on offense, defense and on special teams. He has explosive speed and can create big play touchdown returns. He shows good play strength and has the ability to break tackles. He has good body control and can change direction easily. This ability helps him to make defenders miss. Gandara has good burst and it helps him to get to the outside. His exceptional combination of burst and long speed is what makes him so hard to catch in the open field.
Breylon Richards | OL/DL | Hudl
Richards is an excellent football player. It is great to see him fully healthy this season and playing high level football on offense and defense. He is a high level athlete who can fire off the ball from the offensive guard position. I love how strong he is at the point of attack. His athleticism allows him to be an effective at pulling and get to defenders quickly. He is a good defensive end as well and does a great job of pursuing ball carriers. Richards has the versatility to play inside at defensive tackle in the 0 through 2 technique and the ability to line up outside in a 2-point stance at defensive end. Richards is a great football player who will continue to be a key part to this Monroe football teams success.
Colin Steele | QB | Hudl
Steele is a good athlete who can make throws down the field while on the move. Steele has a good touch and he throws a clean, tight spiral. Steele does a good job of stepping up in the pocket and making throws under pressure. He has ideal height for the position at 6-2 and utilizes it well to avoid passes being deflected.
Tanner Collett | LB/TE | Hudl
Collett is a very good linebacker who does a great job of stopping the run. He shows the ability to get off blocks and bring down ball carriers with no problem. He is an excellent punt blocker and he has blocked multiple punts this season. He reads run plays fast and does a good job of flowing at proper angles to make tackles. Collett is a strong blocker at the tight end position who does a great job of being powerful on initial contact and also driving a defender back so they can’t get into position to make a tackle. I like his game a lot and really believe he will be a great player for Monroe for a long time as he is only just a sophomore.
