Here are some of the players who helped their respective teams enter the postseason with well-earned momentum.
AJ Brand AJ Brand 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Irmo | 2025 State SC QB, Irmo – The junior completed a perfect regular season – and not just for his undefeated Region V-4A champion Yellow Jackets. Along with throwing for 279 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for 69 yards and a score, he finished the regular season with zero turnovers.
Jared Holmes DL, Brookland-Cayce – The senior picked the right time for his first career interception. As Gilbert looked to take momentum to open the second half, he picked off quarterback Drake Braddock Drake Braddock 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Gilbert | 2024 State SC . The Bearcats would convert the turnover into a touchdown in the 28-21 win to claim the Region V-3A title.
Josh Smith Josh Smith 6'2" | 220 lbs | DL Dutch Fork | 2025 State SC DL and Robert Holliday CB, Dutch Fork – The Silver Foxes duo got together on the game-turning play against Lexington. With placekicker Tyler Chavis Tyler Chavis 6'2" | 145 lbs | K Lexington | 2024 SC set to tie the game with a field goal, Smith blocked the attempt, which was recovered by Holliday – who returned it 70 yards for a touchdown to put Dutch Fork up 24-14 at halftime.
Chase Cline Chase Cline 6'0" | 170 lbs | K Chapin | 2024 State SC K, Chapin – The senior had three touchbacks and two field goals against River Bluff. His 49-yard field goal with 13 seconds left lifted the Eagles to a 41-38 win and fourth place in Region IV-5A.
Khalen Bostick and Welden Gunter WRs, Chapin – The receiving duo combined for 11 receptions for 241 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the win over River Bluff.
Tanner Watkins QB and Cole Price WR, Batesburg-Leesville – The duo combined for all of the team’s points on three touchdowns in the overtime win over Saluda. This helped the Panthers clinch third place in Region III-2A and a first-round home game against Chesnee.
Grayson White Grayson White 6'0" | 240 lbs | QB Camden | 2024 State SC QB and Averee Hickmon Averee Hickmon 5'6" | 170 lbs | RB Camden | 2024 State SC RB , Camden – The senior quarterback accounted for 418 total yards and five touchdowns, three passing, and Hickmon had 11 carries for 113 yards and three touchdowns in the 62-7 win over Marlboro County.
Cameron McMillon Cameron McMillon 6'3" | 230 lbs | QB South Pointe | 2026 State SC QB and Roger Burns WR, Fairfield Central – The sophomore quarterback threw for 371 yards and three touchdowns, all to the senior Burns, who finished with 13 receptions for 244 yards, in the 35-7 win over Newberry. The win clinched second place in Region IV-2A.
Duke Cleary DB, Lexington – The senior Wildcat had a game-high eight tackles and a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown against Dutch Fork.
Caleb Pearson Caleb Pearson 5'8" | 170 lbs | ATH CA Johnson | 2024 State SC QB, C.A. Johnson – The senior’s three rushing touchdowns helped the Hornets claim a 38-6 win over Whitmire to finish second in Region III-A.
Josaun Anderson WR, Crestwood – The senior caught two touchdowns in the 56-0 win over Lakewood for the Region VI-3A champion Knights.
Trevon Coleman LB, Calhoun County – The senior had an interception return for a touchdown and recovered a fumble in the 56-8 win for the Region IV-A champion Saints.
Casey Shropshire Casey Shropshire 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB North Central | 2024 State SC RB and Aiden Wiles OL, North Central – The senior running back had 219 total yards and three touchdowns and the junior center had nine pancake blocks in the 38-36 win over Central.
Quinton Solomon ATH – The senior rushed for two touchdowns in the 35-6 win over Spring Valley.
