On Friday, I went to Holt High School to see the Indians take on North Point. Holt took control very early in this game and didn’t look back, cruising to a 42-12 victory. After attending this game, I wanted to focus on my top performers from the game, starting with the offensive side of the ball.
Josh Comstock
Josh Comstock
Josh Comstock is a player who stood out to me in a big way on Friday. The senior running back had a very impressive game, finishing with 18 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns. He showed an impressive burst of speed showing the ability to hit the running lane in a hurry and simply run away from the defense. Once he hit the open field, he also showed the elusiveness to make defenders miss and contact balance to break tackles without losing stride. Josh doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player that college coaches should definitely be paying close attention to.
Ayden Sullivan Ayden Sullivan 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Holt | 2024 MO is another player who stood out to me for Holt on Friday. Sullivan showed a nice quick release, showing the ability to get his hips flipped and ball out of his hands quickly in the short passing game. He also showed impressive accuracy, showing the ability to put the ball where only his intended receiver had a chance to catch it. Sullivan also showed the ability to escape the pocket when needed while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Ayden doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on during his senior year.
Gabriel Cunningham Gabriel Cunningham 6'5" | 240 lbs | TE Holt | 2025 State MO
Gabriel Cunningham Gabriel Cunningham 6'5" | 240 lbs | TE Holt | 2025 State MO
Gabriel Cunningham Gabriel Cunningham 6’5″ | 240 lbs | TE Holt | 2025 State MO was Sullivan’s go-to target on Friday. Cunningham is a big body tight end that took a lot of reps in the game out of the slot. He showed impressive route running ability and great hands. Cunningham was able to use his length to his ability to catch passes at their highest point away from his body, making him a dangerous threat in jump ball situations. He was also able to use his speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game and to get up the field to pick up yards after the catch. Cunningham doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and has all the tools to be a productive tight end at the next level.
My final offensive player that stood out from Holt is offensive lineman Quinn Brown Quinn Brown 6’4″ | 280 lbs | OL Holt | 2024 State MO . Brown lined up at right tackle where he was dominant in the run game. He did a great job of exploding out of his stance and driving his man down the field. Brown finished his blocks with a ton of physicality, resulting in multiple pancake blocks. He also showed the ability to pull from the tackle spot and pick up blocks in open space. Brown is committed to Lindenwood where I can see him becoming a key piece of their offensive line once he gets there.
Highlights
While the North Point offense wasn’t able to get much going, quarterback Hoyt Gregory Hoyt Gregory 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB North Point | 2025 State MO did put together some impressive plays. Unfortunately, the Holt defense was in his face for a lot of the night but when given time, Gregory was able to display impressive arm strength when throwing the deep ball. He also was able to show impressive ability as a runner. Gregory was used very frequently in the read option where he was able to use his speed to pick up big gains on the ground. He also showed toughness as a runner, showing the ability to lower his shoulder and keep his feet running through contact to pick up extra yards. Hoyt currently holds an offer from Florida Atlantic and I expect more to come his way as he has received a solid amount of Division I interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
To wrap up my offensive top performers from this game, I have offensive lineman Carter Briddell Carter Briddell 6’3″ | 280 lbs | OL North Point | 2025 State MO from North Point. Briddell lined up at right tackle where he was impressive as a run blocker. He played with a ton of physicality, showing the ability to drive his man down the field to create a running lane. Briddell also showed the ability to get up to the second level and pick up blocks in open space. Carter doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
