On Friday, I went to Holt High School to see the Indians take on North Point. Holt took control very early in this game and didn’t look back, cruising to a 42-12 victory. After attending this game, I wanted to focus on my top performers from the game. With the offense already being covered, here are my top defensive performers from Friday’s game.
Joe Fogerty Joe Fogerty 5’8″ | 190 lbs | LB Holt | 2024 MO is a player that jumped onto my radar on Friday. He lined up at inside linebacker where he was very impressive against the run. Fogerty did a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill to fill the gap in a hurry to meet the running back before they could get going. When the play was ran on the outside, he did a great job of taking good angles to the ball and getting there in a hurry to make tackles in the open field. Joe doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on during his senior year that has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

Mason Burke Mason Burke 6’4″ | 275 lbs | ATH Wentzville Holt | 2024 State MO is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now that continued to impress this past week. He showed the versatility to line up as a defensive end and move inside to nose. Burke was very disruptive against the run, showing the ability to shed blocks quickly and get to the ball in a hurry to make tackles in the open field. He was also impressive as a pass rusher, exploding out of his stance and driving straight through opposing offensive linemen to get into the pocket and put pressure on the quarterback. Burke just announced his commitment to Lindenwood where I can see him developing into a key piece of their defense once he gets there.
Highlights
Ean Crawford
Ean Crawford
Another defensive player from Holt that stood out to me on Friday was Ean Crawford. Crawford lined up at safety where he was very impressive in pass coverage. He did a great job of reading route combinations and the quarterback then breaking on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. Crawford came away with one interception and a couple more pass deflections on Friday. Ean doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on that has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Mathias Abunaw
Mathias Abunaw
Mathias Abunaw was the most impressive defensive player for North Point on Friday. He lined up at defensive end where he was very impressive against the run. Abunaw showed the ability to explode out of his stance and fight through blocks to get to the ball carrier in a hurry. When the play was away from him, he showed the ability to use his speed to run down the ball carrier from the opposite side of the field to make tackles in the open field. Mathias doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on over the next couple seasons.
Tyron Williams Tyron Williams 5'9" | 145 lbs | DB North Point | 2026 MO
Tyron Williams Tyron Williams 5'9" | 145 lbs | DB North Point | 2026 MO
Tyron Williams Tyron Williams 5’9″ | 145 lbs | DB North Point | 2026 MO was another player that stood out to me on Friday. On defense, Williams lined up at corner where he showed solid man coverage ability. He showed the ability to open up an run with receivers to mirror their routes and did a great job of fighting across receivers to knock down passes when the ball was thrown his way. Williams also showed impressive speed and elusiveness which he used to his ability as a returner on special teams and when brought in at receiver on offense for jet sweeps. Tyron doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.
