10/13 6pm @ Toms River North
Toms River North is coming off of a 49-0 blow out victory over Wall this past weekend. This team is still one of the best public schools in the state, and a team we have highlighted quite often. I would like to turn the attention towards Mariner players that are on the rise and starting to make a name for themselves. While we all know Micah Ford Micah Ford 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Tom Rivers North | 2024 State NJ by now, his brother, Mordecai, is quickly becoming more and more of a presence on the field. An absolute elusive runner, Mordecai Ford Mordecai Ford 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Toms River North | 2025 NJ is starting to receive looks from some big time D1 programs. Also on offense is Camryn Thomas Camryn Thomas 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Toms River North | 2025 State NJ . Camryn is another underclassman that is a dangorus weapon from the receiver position. He is sure to get more attention as the season continues. Last but not least, one of the leaders of this stout defense is Blaise Boland Blaise Boland 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Toms River North | 2025 NJ . By the end of September Blaise had already racked up 35 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 12 TFLs. There are few teams that can stop him from making huge plays on defense.
Toms River South is entering this contest with a 5 game winning streak. Looking to give Toms River North a run for their money and produce an upset, this team is ready and able to keep the game close. The offensive unit is lead by star QB James Alexander, who has two reliable targets in Cooper Greitz and Danny Pierson Danny Pierson 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Toms River South | 2025 NJ . Danny is a big, 6 foot target to throw to, and has the ability to out jump defenders in a jump ball situation.
Westwood (6-0) vs. Lakeland (5-2)
10/13 630pm @ Lakeland
Westwood is having one of the most impressive statistical starts in the state. Having only let up 26 total points through 6 games (4.3 points allowed per game), they have also blown teams out of the water by scoring 218 points total (36.3 ppg). The Cardinals have one of the most talented QBs in the state in Robbie Carcich Robbie Carcich 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Westwood Regional | 2024 State NJ . A player that can hurt defenses in multiple ways, defenses have to worry anytime the ball is in Robbie’s hands. He has produced 18 total touchdowns and has thrown the ball for 985 yards and ran for another 414. One of the other lead runners for the team is the promising sophomore Steve Klein. Steve has not only made a big impact as a runner (238 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns), but also made offenses worry as he has racked up 31 total tackles, 3 interceptions, and a sack so far this season. This defense is also strong upfront, with Luke Biello Luke Biello 5'10" | 200 lbs | OL Westwood | 2025 NJ bringing the QB to the ground 5.5 times and even causing a safety.
Lakeland is a very strong 2 loss program. They brought it to Jefferson this past weekend, as they shut them out 33-0. This offensive unit runs through Jeremy O’Hernandez. Jeremy is a true playmaker, and has rushed for 582 and 6 touchdowns so far this season. On the defensive side of the ball, teams have to consider where Kyle Keyes lines up on the field. Kyle has been all over the place, bringing the ball carrier to the ground 35 times and picking off the ball twice.
