This will be part 2 of this series, with more to come! Here’s 5 more players and what I like about what they put on tape!
Seth Marek Seth Marek 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Petoskey | 2025 State MI , WR, Petoskey- I expected Seth to have a good season, but he has really taken the next step in his development, and he’s only a Junior. I saw a post that he now owns all 7 receiving yards at Petoskey now, including his latest feat of most yards in a season, and it’s only been 6 weeks! He now sits at 26 catches, 559 yards and 9 touchdowns, and climbing! As far as physical ability, I think he’s really got the full package. He’s got good size at 6’2 185, with elite route running, sticky hands, and great vision and breakaway speed for YAC! Right now I have him graded at least as a D2 kid, with the potential for that to keep going up. I hope I can see Petoskey play this season because I really like what they have going on so far this season!
Austin Haeck Austin Haeck 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Port Huron Northern | 2024 State MI , LB, Port Huron Northern- Austin is a solid linebacker with a ton of natural ability. He runs free, breaks down, wraps up and makes good tackles. I love what his highlights show, as he looks shot out of a cannon once he reads the play and heads to his spot. He seems extremely comfortable both coming up in the run game, and dropping back and defending the pass. Austin sheds block with relative ease and can fight against where the blocker is trying to take him to make the play. In my opinion I think the offers are overdue, but he has taken a couple visits now so I think the offers are about to take off!
Damion Ketchmark Damion Ketchmark 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB Flint Powers Catholic | 2024 MI , TE/ LB, Flint Powers Catholic- Damion is a very interesting 2 way player, and he excels at both positions. Defensively he is a downhill LB who displays a clear football IQ, consistently being in the right position at the right time. Damion puts a lot of effort into reading the play properly, not over pursuing, and wrapping up sure tackles. At the TE position, he is versatile, with the ability to play in line and either block or run shallow routes to give the QB an easy completion, and the ability to split out wide and get vertical. I think he’s better and more of a threat the closer he plays to the ball, so I really like him as a good blocking and shallow route TE who can rumble down the seam for some big yardage. I’ll be keeping an eye on this kid to see just how he develops.
Easton Boggs Easton Boggs 6'6" | 225 lbs | DL Lenawee Christian | 2024 State MI , TE/DL, Adrian Lenawee Christian- Easton has been on my radar for awhile now, and I think he isn’t on some radars just because he plays in the 8 Player division. At 6’6 and 225 pounds, he’s got the physical capability to be a real impact player at the next level, and he has the skill to back it up. He can play tight to the line or split out and run routes. He’s a QB’s best friend, he has sure hands and can go up and get balls other guys can’t. Defensively Easton utilizes long arms and a strong base to keep the blocker out of his chest and turn everything back inside. He’s a good tackler that wraps up and drives through his target. I think there are definitely improvements to be made, but overall I think he’s a Saturday player that just needs a shot!
Mike Misner, OL/DL, Otsego- Mike is a good sized lineman that seems to excel offensively. In the pass protection side, he does a good job of staying square and not lunging at the pass rusher. I really like how strong his hands are and his stance stays balanced. In the run game, I like his ability to pull and get to the 2nd level with ease. Sometimes you’ll see guys looking confused after pulling but he always comes around the edge with his head turned inside looking for the first guy he can find. I would like to see him continue to work on some agility and making sure he keeps his pad level low when he engages, but I like what I see so far and I hope the Junior continues to develop because with his frame the sky is the limit.
